    Abstract: There is provide a portable apparatus for purifying waste water, which comprises: a first filter for primarily filtering contaminated water, a tank for sterilizing the contaminated water flowing through the first filter and for generating a precipitate by cohering impurities contained in the contaminated water by use of a composite precipitator including a plurality of elements, and a second filter for secondarily filtering the contaminated water flowing from the tank, to extract drinking water, wherein the tank uses a pump to repeatedly circulate the contaminated water through the first filter and the tank and to agitate the contaminated water with the composite precipitator being put into the tank at a predetermined time, and the tank includes a first jet pipe and a second jet pipe which form a number of spray nozzles to protrude from their outer surfaces in different orientation to form a vortex in the tank, and wherein only the single pump is used for all of the inflow and sterilization of the contaminate

    Abstract: A solenoid valve for a slip control system in a vehicle is disclosed. A flow passage is provided in which working fluid such as oil that generates a break hydraulic pressure flows from the side of a solenoid valve through a filter, flows to the front of a plunger through a side hole formed in a valve body of the solenoid valve, and then flows along the side of valve body, that is, is discharged out of an outlet through a side space between valve body and a valve seat. Therefore, linear pressure control is easy because working fluid flows into toward the front of valve plunger through a side inlet of solenoid valve and the entire size is reduced because a special channel for guiding working fluid to the front of the valve plunger is not needed in a pump housing case.

    Abstract: A breaking hydraulic circuit for linear pressure reduction of a front/rear wheel breaking liquid pressure in a vehicle includes a liquid pressure return line formed between wheel cylinders and a master cylinder, and a two-system liquid pressure control circuit separately passing liquid pressures to be discharged from the wheel cylinders and then unifies the liquid pressures. The breaking hydraulic circuit has normal open type solenoid valves and normal close type solenoid valves. In the breaking hydraulic circuit, linear control of a front/rear wheel breaking liquid pressure is realized at a time of implementation of ABS (Antilock Brake System) or TCS (Traction Control System), and a difference in pressure intensification gradient according to a difference in generation time between the front and rear wheels is eliminated.

    Abstract: A fully-automated method for segmentation of white matter, gray matter, and cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) and for calculating their respective volumes is disclosed. The technique preferably uses a T2-weighted scan and a proton-density scan. The T2-weighted scans are used to highlight those portion of the brain corresponding to CSF. Thereafter, the proton density images are separated in CSF-containing and CSF-free portions, in accordance with the T2-weighted images. The CSF-free portion is then segmented into white matter and gray matter portions. The CSF-containing portion is further segmented into pure CSF-regions, and regions containing a mixture of gray and white matter and CSF. After CSF is segmented from this mixture, the white and gray matter and again segmented, and the respective volumes of white matter, gray matter, and CSF are calculated.

    Abstract: Disclosed are an ultra-light insulation material composition with superior flame-retardant and thermal resistance characteristic, an apparatus for manufacturing the composition, and a method for manufacturing the composition by using the apparatus. A flame-retardant layer including inorganic nonflammable material is formed on a surface of a chip, which is obtained by pulverizing expended polystyrene resin in a size below 3 mm. Through compress-kneading and pressing works with adding thickener, flame-retardant, curing control agent, auxiliary adhesive, dyes/pigments, and waterproofing stuff. The insulation material composition is subject to a pressing work including a vibration pressing work, a press pressing work, and an extrusion pressing work, so that the ultra-light composition can be rapidly obtained. Waste resource is reused and a tire and poisonous gas caused by the insulation material can be prevented.
