    Abstract: Disclosed is a resistive switching element. The resistive switching element includes a first oxide layer and a second oxide layer stacked one on top of the other such that an interface is present therebetween, wherein the first oxide layer and the second oxide layer are made of different metal oxides; two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) present in the interface between the first oxide layer and the second oxide layer and functioning as an inactive electrode; and an active electrode disposed on the second oxide layer, wherein when a positive bias is applied to the active electrode, an electric field is generated between the active electrode and the two-dimensional electron gas, such that the second oxide layer is subjected to the electric field, and active metal ions from the active electrode are injected into the second oxide layer. The resistive switching element realizes highly uniform resistive switching operation.

In addition to the substrate, each embodiment of the semiconductor device includes at least one semiconductor die which is electrically connected to the substrate, both the semiconductor die and the substrate being at least partially covered by a package body of the semiconductor device. In certain embodiments of the semiconductor device, through-mold vias are formed in the package body to provide electrical signal paths from an exterior surface thereof to the conductive pattern of the substrate. In other embodiments, through mold vias are also included in the package body to provide electrical signal paths between the semiconductor die and an exterior surface of the package body.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a cathode for a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) including preparing an electrode composition containing urea, ultrasonically spraying the electrode composition onto a GDC scaffold, and drying the scaffold. By using urea, calcination (?700° C.) after each infiltration cycle can be omitted, the next infiltration cycle is performed immediately after the drying (?100° C.), and thus the cathode manufacturing process time can be greatly reduced. Disclosed is also a solid oxide fuel cell including an anode support, an anode functional layer disposed on the anode support, an electrolyte disposed on the anode functional layer, and a cathode disposed on the electrolyte, wherein the cathode is formed by ultrasonic spraying using an electrode composition containing urea.

    Abstract: A system and method for facilitating DBS electrode trajectory planning using a machine learning (ML)-based feature identification scheme configured to identify and distinguish between various regions of interest (ROIs) and regions of avoidance (ROAs) in a patient's brain scan image. In one arrangement, standard orientation image slices as well as re-sliced images in non-standard orientations are provided in a labeled input dataset for training a CNN/ANN for distinguishing between ROIs and ROAs. Upon identification of the ROIs and ROAs in the patient's brain scan image, an optimal trajectory for implanting a DBS lead may be determined relative to a particular ROI while avoiding any ROAs.

    Abstract: The electrochemical energy conversion system of the present disclosure includes an anode, a cathode, and an ion exchange membrane including a polymer having an aromatic polymer chain and an alkylated substrate including an alkyl chain, and at least one ionic group. The alkylated substrate is bound to at least one aromatic group in the polymer chain via Friedel-Crafts alkylation of the at least one aromatic group. The alkylation reaction utilizes a haloalkylated tertiary alcohol or a haloalkylated alkene as a precursor. In the presence of an acid catalyst, a carbocation is generated in the precursor which reacts with the aromatic rings of the polymer chain. The at least one ionic group is then replaced with a desired cationic or anionic group using a substitution reaction. The membranes exhibit advantageous stability achieved through a simplified and scalable reaction scheme.

The operating voltage pulse has a magnitude for turning on the selector device, and the threshold voltage control pulse has a lower magnitude lower than the operating voltage pulse.
