  • Publication number: 20240188976
Abstract: A device for removing material from a patient includes a catheter having a distal catheter end and defining a catheter lumen and a containing element coupled to the catheter. The containing element is deployable from the distal catheter end of the catheter and includes an outer wall portion. The outer wall portion includes an inner layer defining an inner chamber and an outer layer coupled to the inner layer. The inner layer and the outer layer form a distal folded edge defining a distal opening of the containing element in communication with the inner chamber. Implementations of the device may further include a control element extending through the catheter lumen and coupled to the containing element for selectively collapsing the inner chamber, a membrane for restricting flow through the outer wall portion, and/or a flow restriction formed by the containing element.

  • Patent number: 12006755
Abstract: An automatic door can include a plurality of millimeter wave (mmW) sensors that are each configured to sense a door area. Each mmW sensor includes a mmW radar configured to capture mmW radar data and an inertial measurement unit (IMU) configured to measure an orientation of the mmW radar. Based on IMU data from the mmW sensors, the mmW radar data from the sensors can be combined so that the door areas can form a combined door area. Multiple targets can be detected and tracked through the combined door area at high resolutions and in a variety of environmental conditions. Control of the automatic door can be enhanced in a variety of ways by classifying the targets and predicting their movements in the combined door area. Further, the classification and prediction of targets can facilitate safe and reliable operation by filtering operation based on certain targets and/or motions.

  • Patent number: 12006801
Abstract: An expandable liner hanger includes an anchoring element having multiple circumferential ridges that include flow relief grooves which prevent buildup of hydrostatic pressure between the liner hanger and well casing during expansion of the liner hanger. Upon liner hanger expansion the ridges come in high interference with wellbore casing and couple the liner hanger to the wellbore casing. According to another embodiment of the invention, the ridges are formed by a spiral ridge extending along an outer periphery of the hanger thus providing a pressure relief passage for the fluid.

  • Publication number: 20240185156
Abstract: Soil maps are rarely used for the elaboration of road layouts, and there are no known algorithms that incorporate soil information dynamically. The best way to incorporate this knowledge of soils is to interpret the soil maps into a derived (interpreted) map known as the “road, pipelines and operational locations aptitude map”. This study generated an innovative algorithm that incorporates soil aptitude maps for road layouts, pipeline lines and escape routes. The novelty of the algorithm is that this aptitude information (interpreted from a map of soil classes) is collated together with relief and hydrography information. Thus, it is hypothesized that, in addition to the characteristics of the relief and proximity of watercourses, the soil map can help the decision-maker to unveil regions with serious problems that increase the costs of construction and maintenance of roads, pipelines, escape routes and operating locations.
