  • Patent number: 10516616
Abstract: A method for congestion control in a data communication protocol employing acknowledged communication may include measuring a flight size. A transmission rate may be measured. A trend of the flight size may be determined. A trend of the transmission rate may be determined, and the trend may be derived from a transmission rate gradient calculation, in which either the transmission rate measurements or the transmission rate gradient calculations or both may be filtered to reduce their temporal variability. Whether there is a congestion may be detected according to the determined trend of the transmission rate and the trend of the flight size. Upon detection of the congestion, a change may be made from a current congestion control state to a new congestion control state. Data may be transmitted while respecting a maximum amount of unacknowledged data which the transmitting node may transmit. An apparatus is also disclosed.

Abstract: An aerodynamic dome component that is placed in front of a wind turbine hub includes an outer ring, a central axle disposed relative to the outer ring, a plurality of radially extending tensioning members and a skin-like covering. The plurality of radially extending tensioning members are coupled to the outer ring at a first end and to the central axle at a second end. The outer ring, the plurality of radially extending tensioning members and the central axle together form an underlying dome support structure. The skin-like covering is configured to envelop at least a portion of the underlying dome support structure to form at least a portion of the aerodynamic dome component and define a front dome portion. The skin-like covering enveloping at least a portion of the underlying dome support structure may further define a rear dome portion, wherein the rear dome portion is configured downwind from the front dome portion.

  • Patent number: 10495688
Abstract: A test device for manually testing chips/ICs is disclosed. A housing includes a receiver for a device under test (DUT). The DUT must be pressed into the housing to make adequate contact with the test pins in the bottom of the test device. A screw drive presses the DUT into position and a plurality of holes in the turning knob accommodate through-going pins which on one leg extend through the knob and into an interference path of a fixed barrier stop. The extended leg then engages the stop during rotation to end the downward movement of the screw. Adjustment is made by selecting holes where the pins are inserted. Reversing the pins in the hole allows for storage of the pins when not in use.

  • Patent number: 10263894
Abstract: A method and apparatus for congestion control for acknowledged communication over networks detects congestion based on trends of flight size and transmission rate in order to adapt a congestion window in accordance with a detection result. Such congestion detection enables, for example, distinguishing between the congestion with or without unfair competition. Moreover, the measured transmission rate or its trend can be filtered to compensate for time variations. An end node or a proxy can be used for congestion control.

  • Publication number: 20190041410
Abstract: Photonic devices, systems, and methods for detecting an analyte in a biological solution (e.g., whole blood) are provided. Representative photonic devices are optical ring resonators having nanoscale features and micron-sized diameters. Due to the compact size of these devices, many resonators can be disposed on a single substrate and tested simultaneously as a sample is passed over the devices. Typical analytes include blood cells, antibodies, and pathogens, as well as compounds indicative of the presence of blood cells or pathogens (e.g., serology). In certain embodiments, blood type can be determined through photonic sensing using a combination of direct detection of blood cells and serology. By combining the detection signals of multiple devices, the type of blood can be determined.
