  • Publication number: 20170264238
Abstract: Holographic concentration solar modules (1), which concentrate the solar light into photovoltaic solar cells (2), integrated into urban and street elements (3), such as street lamps, bus stops, motorway toll booths, charging facilities, advertising sites, kiosks, amongst others, are disclosed. The holographic solar concentration modules (1) carry out passive tracking and the design thereof may be adapted to any surface. The efficient capturing of solar light in any position is guaranteed with the design versatility of the hologram included in the solar module (1). Therefore, in the present invention, in each one of the applications, a constructive element is substituted by a holographic solar concentration module (1). For example, it forms the support of a solar street lamp, the cover of a bus stop or of a toll booth, or the structure of an advertising site, amongst others. The solar module (1) constitutes in this way photovoltaic integration (BIPV) into urban and street elements.

  • Publication number: 20170228150
Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of causing a control interface to be presented on a touch-enabled device based on a motion or absence thereof. A motion, such as a hover gesture, can be detected and the control interface presented in response to the detection. Alternatively, absence of a motion can be detected and the control interface presented in response to the detection. A hover gesture can occur without a user physically touching a touch screen of a touch-enabled device. Instead, the user's finger or fingers can be positioned at a spaced distance above the touch screen. The touch screen can detect that the user's fingers are proximate to the touch screen, such as through capacitive sensing. Additionally, finger movement can be detected while the fingers are hovering to expand the existing options for gesture input.

  • Patent number: 9704272
Abstract: A system to facilitate realistic real-time motion blur of a primitive. The system can calculate a first movement of a primitive, blur texture space data based on the first movement, cache the blurred texture space data, and re-use the blurred texture space data when later movement of the primitive calculated at a later time is found to be similar to the first movement. In some cases, the system can re-blur the texture space data to generate second blurred texture space data, store second blurred texture space data, and use the second blurred texture space data to generate blurred primitives if the later movement differs by a threshold amount from the first movement.

  • Publication number: 20170083792
Abstract: A system and method provide object localization in a query image based on a global representation of the image generated with a model derived from a convolutional neural network. Representations of annotated images and a query image are each generated based on activations output by a layer of the model which precedes the fully-connected layers of the neural network. A similarity is computed between the query image representation and each of the annotated image representations to identify a subset of the annotated images having the highest computed similarity. Object location information from at least one of the subset of annotated images is transferred to the query image and information is output, based on the transferred object location information.

  • Publication number: 20170032351
Abstract: Examples of the disclosure enable one or more transactions to be managed. In some examples, a first device and a second device are associated with an account. The first device has a first level of authorization with respect to the account, and the second device has a second level of authorization with respect to the account. An instruction to authorize the second device to have access to a first quantity of funds is received from the first device, and the second device is authorized to have access to the first quantity of funds. A request to access a second quantity of funds is received. The request is associated with the second device. The request to access the second quantity of funds is approved on the condition that the second quantity of funds is less than or equal to the first quantity of funds.

  • Patent number: 9410300
Abstract: The present invention relates to submergible modular breakwaters for lowering the kinetic energy of water waves. In particular, the present invention is directed toward a physical embodiment that, when in its floating position, will provide resistance to the movement of water waves in the direction of the waves for a large range of wave periods. The invention is a submergible modular breakwater that can be kept underwater on the sea or lake floor as not to provide any barrier to navigation until it is needed to lower the kinetic energy of waves, when it is quickly raised afloat to provide protection, especially for coastal erosion control during storms or rough waters. Once the lowering of the kinetic energy of water waves is not longer needed, the modular breakwater can be quickly sunk to the sea or lake floor in order to remove any barrier to navigation.

  • Publication number: 20160197221
Abstract: The present invention relates to a solar panel with three-dimensional (3D) unitary structures or cavities that is made entirely of plastic materials and applicable to both a thermal solar panel and a photovoltaic solar module. The difference between both cases is that in the first case, the structure incorporates pipes (6) for a heat-carrying fluid, whereas in the second case it is provided with photovoltaic solar cells (8). The type of material with which they are constructed also differs: while the entire panel in both cases is still made of plastic or polymeric materials, the thermal solar application uses materials with very low thermal conductivity for retaining heat, whereas the photovoltaic application is carried out with materials with high thermal conductivity precisely for dissipating heat and preventing a decrease in cell efficiency due to heating.

Abstract: Example apparatus and methods concern controlling a hover-sensitive input/output interface. One example apparatus includes a proximity detector that detects an object in a hover-space associated with the input/output interface. The apparatus produces characterization data concerning the object. The characterization data may be independent of where in the hover-space the object is located. The apparatus selectively controls the activation, display, and deactivation of user interface elements displayed by the apparatus on the input/output interface as a function of the characterization data and interface state.
