  • Publication number: 20090204980
Abstract: A DLL that includes an API hook is injected into the address space of a target computer process called by an application program. Upon termination of the application program, computer-readable instructions describing a process for filtering exceptions returned from the target computer process are stored in memory locations accessible to the target computer process and the DLL is ejected from the address space.

  • Publication number: 20080068238
Abstract: An embedded megamodule and an embedded CPU enable power-saving through a combination of hardware and software. The CPU configures the power-down controller (PDC) logic within megamodule and can software trigger a low-power state of logic blocks and memory during processor IDLE periods. To wake from this power-down state, a system event is asserted to the CPU through the module interrupt controller. Thus the entry into a low-power state is software-driven during periods of inactivity and power restoration is on system activity that demands the attention of the CPU.

Abstract: Provided are a method and system for tracking access to application data and preventing data exploitation by malicious programs. In one example, the method includes shimming into a running process of the system to create at least one monitoring hook to monitor a program, building an execution path of the monitored program, and monitoring a behavior of the execution path for malicious behavior using the monitoring hook.

  • Publication number: 20070094537
Abstract: An memory access address comparator includes two comparators comparing an input memory access address with respective reference addresses. The comparators produce a match indication on selectable criteria, such as address size, full or partial overlap, greater than, less than, equal to, not equal to, less than or equal to, and greater than or equal to, and can be selectively chained. Input multiplexers permit memory access address bus selection. The comparator output may be selectively dependent upon corresponding data matches. The reference addresses, comparison data and control functions are enabled via central processing unit accessible memory mapped registers.

  • Publication number: 20060288254
Abstract: A method of trace data compression receives trace data on a first port and a second port stores a prior data value. If trace data is received on only one port, then that trace data is transmitted as an indication of matching and non-matching sections between the current trace data and the stored data value and the non-matching sections of the current trace data on the one port. If trace data is received on both ports, then the first port trace data is transmitted relative to the prior stored value and the second port trace data is transmitted relative to the first port trace data. The stored prior data is reset to zero upon each initiation or termination of trace data on either port. The stored prior value is set to the second port value or the first port value if no second port value is received.

  • Publication number: 20060282706
Abstract: An program counter address comparator includes two comparators comparing an input program counter address with respective reference addresses. The comparators produce a match indication on selectable criteria, such as greater than, less than, equal to, not equal to, less than or equal to, and greater than or equal to, and can be selectively chained. Input multiplexers permit selection of either the program counter address bus or a secondary address bus. The reference addresses and control functions are enabled via central processing unit accessible memory mapped registers.

  • Patent number: 7051664
Abstract: An apparatus and related method of operation for collection of material by an underwater vehicle makes use of a number of arms extending outward from a body of the vehicle. The ends of the arms form an aperture for passing material into the body of the vehicle. One or more of the arms each includes a belt coupled to a drive mechanism for driving at least some portion of the belt generally toward the aperture. When driven, the belts form a current flowing into the vehicle propelling material for collection into the vehicle as well as mechanically force the material into the body. A spring-loaded mechanism can be used to force the arms together permitting retrieval of large object without jamming the retrieval mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20060038448
Abstract: An improved paralleled multiple pole circuit breaker employs a conductive element of known resistance connected in series within each pole. A bridging conductor electrically connects together the poles and balances the current flow therethrough at a location between the sets of separable contacts and the conductive element of each pole. The conductive elements are mass-produced plate-like blades of a material having a resistance that is substantially fixed and is substantially independent of temperature. During operation, the voltage drop across one of the conductive elements can be determined by directly measuring the voltage drop between the ends of the conductive element without additionally interposing copper, solder, or other materials between the locations on the conductive element across which the voltage drop is determined.

  • Publication number: 20050066772
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the preparation of a sodium-based reactive desulphurizing agent for use in molten ferrous materials. The source of sodium in the reactive desulphurizing agent is a glass cullet, a composition comprising of at least Na2O and SiO2. In a second embodiment of the invention, the glass cullet reactive desulphurizing agent also comprises of an alkali or an alkaline material or other materials, such as oxides of calcium, aluminum and magnesium. Preferred raw materials for the oxides of calcium, aluminum and magnesium are, respectively, lime, alumina and dolomite. The premixed solid reactive desulphurizing agent is brought in contact with the molten ferrous material, allowing the desulphurization or the double replacement of the iron sulphur to take place and produce a ferrous oxide. The sodium in the reactive desulphurizing agent is rendered resistant to combustion or evaporation on contact with the molten ferrous materials by the flux activity of the silica.

  • Publication number: 20050069531
Abstract: An enzymatic method is provided for treating ophthalmic disorders of the mammalian eye. Prevention of neovascularization and the increased rate of clearance from the vitreous of materials toxic to retina is accomplished by administering an amount of hyaluronidase effective to liquefy the vitreous humor of the treated eye without causing toxic damage to the eye. Liquefaction of the vitreous humor increases the rate of liquid exchange from the vitreal chamber. This increase in exchange removes those materials and conditions whose presence causes ophthalmological and retinal damage.

  • Publication number: 20050064076
Abstract: Methods for determining the level of volatile components, such as essential oils, in a food composition, such as a food processing stream, by analysis of a vapor containing the component. The vapor may be transferred from the headspace of a food processing stream to an analyzing station where the levels of volatile components are determined. Alternatively, the vapor may be generated by sparging a sample of the food or related processing stream for analysis thereof. Analysis of the components maybe performed by spectroscopic methods on a continual or periodic basis.
