  • Patent number: 12005167
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for determining an actual pump rate and/or for calibrating a blood pump of a blood treatment apparatus connected to an extracorporeal blood circuit. The method includes providing a blood pump of a blood treatment apparatus or establishing a signal communication to a blood pump. The blood pump comprises, or is connected to at least a first source for a fluid and at least a first line of an extracorporeal blood circuit which is connected to the first source downstream. Furthermore, the blood pump comprises, or is connected to, a reception unit for receiving fluids of the first source wherein the reception unit is in fluid communication with the first line. The reception unit is arranged on or at a first weighing device such that the weight of the reception unit or of its content is determined using the weighing device.

  • Patent number: 11408793
Abstract: Methods for checking a connection between a compressed air outlet of a blood treatment apparatus and a pressure measuring line of an extracorporeal blood tubing set. The methods include providing a blood treatment apparatus having a compressed air line. A compressed air device is in fluid communication with the compressed air line for generating pressure within the compressed air line. A compressed air outlet is in fluid communication with both the compressed air line and an exterior of the blood treatment apparatus. The compressed air outlet is connectable with a pressure measuring line and a pressure sensor. The method also includes building up a pressure and an air flow in the compressed air line and/or at the compressed air outlet, measuring a pressure at the compressed air outlet or in the compressed air line, and evaluating an increase of the measured pressure.

  • Patent number: 10471194
Abstract: A dialysis machine that includes a valve member having a deformable area configured to deform outwardly away when pressurized fluid is introduced into the valve member. The valve member is configured so that, when a dialysis fluid cassette is disposed in a cassette compartment of the dialysis machine and pressurized fluid is introduced into the valve member, the deformable area obstructs a fluid channel of the dialysis fluid cassette to control dialysis fluid flow therethrough.

  • Patent number: 9089639
Abstract: A method and device for controlling an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus, which can be operated as a hemodialysis apparatus, hemofiltration apparatus or hemodiafiltration apparatus, are disclosed. The method and device make provision, apart from balancing the fluids as a function of the weights of the containers, for the measurement of the weight reduction or increase of at least one of the containers in the time interval in which the pump assigned to the respective container performs a preset number of revolutions or pump strokes. The change in the weight of the container for a half or one pump revolution can be determined. The delivery rate of the respective pump is ascertained from the measured weight reduction or increase in the specific time interval, thereby permitting the precise determination of the actual delivery rate of one or more pumps. The actual delivery rates of all the pumps are preferably monitored.
