  • Publication number: 20050145440
Abstract: An improved equipment and method for reducing vibrations of a lift cage is intended for use in lifts of the type having a lift cage is intended for use in lifts of the type having a lift cage guided along rails in which a sensor for detecting positional changes of the lift cage and/or lift cage accelerations is coupled to a regulator which in turn controls an actuator for changing the position of the lift cage relative to the rails. An output signal developed by the regulator is limited to a maximum value for the setting signal to be sent to the actuator. A difference between the regulator output and the limited output is computed and fed to the regulator as an additional input. The regulator is constructed in such a manner that the difference fed back to the regulator remains as small as possible. This improves response of the vibration inducing equipment.

  • Publication number: 20050139430
Abstract: Equipment for reducing vibrations of a lift cage guided at rails comprises a plurality of guide elements for guiding the lift cage along the rails, a sensor for detecting positional changes of the lift cage and/or of accelerations occurring at the lift cage, an actuator arranged between the lift cage and the guide elements and a regulating device which, on the basis of the values transmitted by the sensor, controls the actuator for changing the position of the cage relative to the rails. The regulating device has an amplification which is variable in dependence on the vertical speed of the lift cage. The amplification of the regulating device is continuously raised after activation of the regulating device and continuously lowered after switching-off of the regulating device.

  • Publication number: 20030226717
Abstract: A device for active vibration damping dampens the structural resonance of an elevator car frame with a car body through measurement of the deformation of the frame. Under elastic deformation, a safety plank and a crosshead of the frame move parallel and relative to each other and two acceleration sensors aligned vertically (in the “z” direction) capture the movement. From the difference between the sensor signals, the “y” rotation of the safety plank and the crosshead is determined. The rotation and the signals from acceleration sensors on the frame are used to determine the shear movement of the frame.

  • Patent number: 5896949
Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for reducing oscillations of an elevator car occurring transverse to the direction of travel. The elevator car is guided by rails and includes guide elements with a predefined range of motion. The apparatus includes a plurality of inertial sensors mounted to a frame of the elevator car and at least one actuator positioned between the elevator car and the guide elements. The inertial sensors measure oscillations transverse to the direction of travel and the at least one actuator is driven according to the output from the inertial sensors to actuate movement in an equal and opposite direction to the oscillations. The at least one actuator includes a drive motor with a stationary motor part coupled to the frame and a moving motor part coupled to the guide elements. The method includes measuring an oscillation occurring transverse to a direction travel and driving at least one actuator positioned between the car and the guide elements.

  • Patent number: 5246089
Abstract: A door drive apparatus with a locking mechanism for elevator doors permits the opening of the car door situated in the region of a floor together with a coupled-on shaft door, driven automatically in the normal case or manually in the case of a power failure. If the elevator car is situated outside a floor region, the car door remains locked. A control cam mounted at the upper end of a car door leaf is connected with a door drive by a belted drive means and causes a low-jerk opening and closing of the car door at the closing end of travel. The control cam is connected by a pull rod to an entraining member parallelogram for the coupling of the shaft door to the car door. A locking mechanism on the upper end of the same door leaf has an actuating roller which is actuated by a double lever connected to the control cam and the pull rod for the unlocking when the car is located in the door opening region of a floor.

  • Patent number: 4947964
Abstract: An apparatus for opening and closing the car door of an elevator car which is situated in the door opening zone of a floor is coupled together with a shaft door, and is driven automatically by a drive motor or, in the case of a power failure, manually by a passenger. If the elevator car is situated outside a door opening zone, the car door remains locked by the same apparatus. The car door is driven through a drive belt by way of an entraining parallelogram linkage, which linkage includes a rigid cam and a movable cam and is mounted at the upper part of a car door. For free travel through a door opening zone, the linkage is closed, and the linkage opens for the coupling with the shaft door between two coupling rollers mounted on the shaft door before a movement of the doors takes place. The movable cam includes a compressible ramp cam which, during the travel and on stopping outside a door opening zone, lifts off from a rigid cam carrier due to leaf springs.
