  • Patent number: 4385660
Abstract: A device for diverting discrete cleaning bodies carried in a fluid flowing through a tubular heat exchanger from the main stream of the fluid consisting of a diverter casing through which an axial current flows and a separating sieve system disposed therein having at least one sieve surface disposed at an angle to the flow and terminating at the downstream end in a lateral outlet connection. The at least one sieve surface being pivotable for cleaning purposes to such an extent that the sieve surface that was on the upstream side comes to be situated on the downstream side. The at least one sieve surface terminates in the vicinity of the diverter casing wall and a transition surface is disposed between the upstream sieve surface and the casing wall, the radius of curvature or angle between the transition surface and the casing wall being selected such that the cleaning bodies are prevented from becoming wedged.

  • Patent number: 4314604
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the segregation of worn-out cleaning bodies consisting of resiliently deformable material such as rubber or plastic from the coolant circuit of a heat exchanger for the purpose of segregating and removing those cleaning bodies which on account of wear no longer have sufficient dimensions to clean the tubes of the heat exchanger. Cleaning bodies found still good are--together, if desired, with the new cleaning bodies replacing the rejected cleaning bodies--delivered back through the injecting device to the coolant circuit such that any air which has penetrated during the sorting or is contained in new cleaning bodies is virtually completely removed from the sponge-like cleaning bodies, and the cleaning bodies are imbibed with coolant fluid in order to assure a uniform distribution of the cleaning bodies in the coolant fluid and to prevent any floating up or sinking of the cleaning bodies and hence to prevent improper cleaning of the heat exchanger tubes.

  • Patent number: 4291485
Abstract: The invention provides for an automatically releasing mounting system by dint of which a weight member may be releasably connected to a fishing-line. The mounting system comprises a receptacle resiliently biassed into essentially conical shape. Wall portions of the receptacle are interconnected by a pivotal joint near the upper end thereof, while latch apparatus are provided to releasably connect the lower ends of the wall portions. The latch apparatus include a latch member having a wing formed integral thereto. When the receptacle hits the surface of the water, the relative movement between the water and the wing portion of the latch member will cause moving of the latch member out of the associated latch-catch. Thus the wall portions of the receptacle cooperating in defining the lower aperture of the container can expand. The receptacle including the latch apparatus can be molded as a single essentially flat part.

  • Patent number: 4233028
Abstract: Described is a process for the level dyeing of polyacrylonitrile materials of slow, normal and rapid absorptive capacity with an aqueous dye liquor, which process comprises using a liquor containing at least one migrating cationic dye as well as, if required, further additives; and adding to the liquor, before, during or after dyeing, at least one organic cationic migration auxiliary. This process renders possible by the use of organic migration auxiliaries the obtainment of level single-shade and, in particular, combination-shade dyeings at normal dyeing temperatures.Particularly suitable migrating cationic dyestuffs are those having a more or less delocalized positive charge, the cation weight of which dyestuffs is smaller than 310, the parachor smaller than 750 and the log P (relative lipophil property) smaller than 3.6.Particularly suitable organic migration auxiliaries are those of which the cation weight is smaller than 250, the parachor smaller than 700 and the log P smaller than 6.4.

  • Patent number: 4205759
Abstract: A piece of porous foil larger than the removable portion of the lid of a can is connected to the under surface of the removable lid portion and overlaps the edges defining the can opening on the interior surface of the lid, whereby liquid is prevented from spurting out of the can with escaping gas upon initial partial opening of the removable portion, and the piece of porous foil is fully removable with the removable lid portion.

  • Patent number: 4116622
Abstract: A process for dyeing polyacrylonitrile materials in clear, neutral blue shades, which comprises the use of a mixture of an oxazine dye of the formula ##STR1## and a naphtholactam dye of the formula ##STR2## in the ratio of 1:3 to 3:1, in which formulae R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent low molecular alkyl radicals, R.sub.3 represents a low molecular alkyl radical or an aryl radical, R.sub.4 represents hydrogen or a low molecular alkyl radical, each of R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 represents a low molecular alkyl radical, Y represents a halogen atom and X.sup..crclbar. represents an anion and a dyestuff preparation which contains an oxazine dye of the formula (1) and a naphtholactam dye of the formula (2) in the ratio 1:3 to 3:1.
