Abstract: A sensor for detecting movement of a control element moved by an electromagnetic actuator comprises a fixed coil arrangement having at least one coil connected to a current supply and to a signal detection device. A housing circumferentially encloses the fixed coil arrangement. The housing comprises a magnetically conductive material with poor electrical conductivity. An axially movable rod-shaped sensor part of a magnetizable material is connected to the control element. A short circuit element comprised of an electrically conductive material with low ohmic resistance is disposed on the rod-shaped element and is delimited in a longitudinal direction of the rod-shaped element by two outer edge regions. The short circuit element is dimensioned in the movement direction of the rod-shaped element so that only one of the outer edge regions of the short circuit element is always positioned inside the fixed coil arrangement during the back and forth movement in a stroke region of the fixed coil arrangement.

Abstract: A method and a subscriber station for allocating rights of access to a telecommunications channel of the telecommunications network to at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20) are proposed in which information signals are transmitted to the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20). With the information signals, access authorization data (45, 50, 55) are transmitted to the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20). Upon reception of the access authorization data (45, 50, 55) in an evaluation unit (6) of the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20), the question is asked whether the access authorization data (45, 50, 55) include an access threshold value (S), and the access threshold value (S) is compared with a random number or a pseudo-random number (R), and the right of access to a telecommunications channel of the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20) is granted as a function of the outcome of comparison.

Abstract: A method and associated devices are provided whereby communication information of a first communication unit is provided via a communication system assigned to the unit. The communication information contains indications on communication possibilities which permit a communication connection with the first communication unit to be set up. Advantageously, a number of communication devices, assigned to the first communication unit, are represented in the indications on communication possibilities. The communication information can be compiled into profiles by the user, which is assigned to the first communication unit, in order to make available only certain information about communication possibilities.

Abstract: A free piston engine is configured with a pair of opposed engine cylinders located on opposite sides of a fluid pumping assembly. An inner piston assembly includes a pair of inner pistons, one each operatively located in a respective one of the engine cylinders, with a push rod connected between the inner pistons. The push rod extends through an inner pumping chamber in the fluid pumping assembly and forms a fluid plunger within this chamber. An outer piston assembly includes a pair of outer pistons, one each operatively located in a respective one of the engine cylinders, with at least one pull rod connected between the outer pistons. The pull rod extends through an outer pumping chamber in the fluid pumping assembly and forms a fluid plunger within this chamber. The movement of the inner and outer piston assemblies during engine operation will cause the fluid plungers to pump fluid from a low pressure container into a high pressure chamber as a means of storing the energy output from the engine.

Abstract: A method of transmitting signaling information between a master station and a slave station, a master station, a slave station, and various message elements are used to reduce the power consumption in a mobile slave station. A third message, which contains information regarding whether data to be sent is processed in the master station to increase the reception quality of this data at the slave station, is transmitted with the signaling information from the master station to the slave station.

The link setup message contains a mode information item which specifies whether the client unit desires a setup of the communications link in the unconfirmed indication mode or in the confirmed indication mode.

The encoded useful data in the first bit stream are channel decoded by the intermediary station (15). For transmission in a second network (20), the useful data are again channel encoded by the intermediary station (15) and are transmitted to a second mobile station (5) via a transmission channel of the second network (20). Signalization data containing information regarding the encoding in the first step are transmitted from the intermediary station (15) to the second mobile station (5).

According to said method, when a communication link is set up between the subscriber terminal and the service providing component, access information for the at least one service providing component is requested by a storage means associated with the subscriber terminal. By providing exclusively specific access information for specific service providing components on said storage means associated with a subscriber or a subscriber device, such as a SIM card or a USIM application on a UICC card, the network operator can prevent a subscriber from using other service providing components of other specific service providers different from those prescribed thereto when a specific data service is requested.

Abstract: A detection method in which a CDMA-coded data signal is transmitted in the form of a data stream of spread data bursts between a transmitter and a receiver, hierarchical CDMA codes being used for the transmission. In a first step, codes having a smaller spreading factor than a maximally to be detected spreading factor are detected. In a second step, codes having a larger spreading factor than in the previous step are detected, the detection results of the first step being taken into account. In a third step, the detection process is broken off if all codes are detected, or otherwise the second step is repeated with the detection results last obtained in each instance, until all codes are detected.
