  • Publication number: 20230306135
Abstract: Unstructured data items are stored at an object storage service. A filtering requirement to be used to generate a result set for an access request is determined. Using a transformed representation of the filtering requirement, a target set of tokens of the filtering requirement which are to be obfuscated within a log record is identified. A log record that comprises substitute tokens for the target set of tokens is generated and stored.

  • Patent number: 10664508
Abstract: Unstructured data items are stored in an item collection. An access request comprising an input interpretation rule and a filtering criterion is directed to at least a portion of the item collection. Records are extracted from an unstructured data item using the input interpretation rule. A response to the access request is obtained, based at least partly in a determination that one of the records satisfies the filtering criterion.

  • Patent number: 10650032
Abstract: Unstructured data items are stored at an object storage service. A filtering criterion to be used to generate a result set for an access request is determined. A test that can be used to determine, without completing parsing of a record identified in an unstructured data item, whether the record satisfies the filtering criterion is identified. Parsing of a particular record is abandoned in response to determining, using the test, that the record satisfies the filtering criterion. A response to the access request is determined using a subset of records that satisfy the filtering criterion.

  • Patent number: 9009732
Abstract: A method of processing raw events to typed events, each raw event including data items containing data values, the method includes: providing a library of event type objects, each event type object relating to a given event type and including attributes of given data types, the attributes in each event type object structured according to a given structure; for each raw event, determining an event type object in the library which meets: (i) each of the data items in the raw event maps to an attribute in the event type object, and (ii) a data value in each of the data items is of a data type detected to match the given data type of the mapped attribute; and generating a typed event from each raw event, the typed event including the data values of the raw event structured according to the structure of the determined event type object.

  • Patent number: 8610718
Abstract: A method of visualizing sets of correlated events of a stream of events on a display, each event having a time of occurrence in the stream and at least one attribute indicating its correlation with the other events of a set, including the steps of plotting a glyph for each event on the display at a radial distance and an angular position with respect to an origin; the radial distance and the size of a glyph being proportional to the occurrence time of its event; the angular position of the glyph of a succeeding event in a set being chosen equal to that of the preceding event in the set unless these two glyphs would over-lap in which case the angular position of the glyph of said subsequent event is shifted in a given direction by an amount just sufficient to avoid such overlap; and the angular position of the glyph of the first event in a set being chosen so that overlapping of all glyphs is minimized.

  • Patent number: 8326854
Abstract: A method of detecting a reference sequence of events in a sample sequence of events, wherein each event is of a certain event type and holds a set of data attributes, includes the steps of: picking candidate combinations of events from said sample sequence so that the event types within each candidate combination match the event types in the reference sequence, calculating an overall similarity score for each candidate combination from at least (i) an event occurrence score based on occurrence deviations representing a count of non-matching events between the events of a candidate combination matching events of the reference sequence and (ii) an attribute match score based on similarity deviations between the data attributes of the events of a candidate combination and the data attributes of the matching events of the reference sequence, and identifying the candidate combination with the best overall similarity score as reference sequence detected.

  • Patent number: 7827242
Abstract: The invention provides a system adapted to enable contextual collaboration within a computer network. The invention provides a collaboration manager that supports manipulation of collaboration spaces. The collaboration spaces contain one or more collaboration elements that have potentially different collaboration modalities. The context manager maintains resources and resource interrelationships within contexts. The resources can include collaboration elements, processes, tasks, business objects, users, and/or roles. A view generator selects a set of the resources to be displayed to a user of the computer network. The invention also includes an interface adapted to allow applications to specify commands to manipulate collaboration spaces, commands to maintain resources and resource interrelationships within contexts, and queries for context-sensitive views.

  • Patent number: 7805482
Abstract: A method of correlating events in a stream of data packets in which each data packet includes an event type identifier and an attribute associated with a type of event. A plurality of data packets of the stream of data packets is received and correlation set of selectors is applied to the received data packets. Each selector of the correlation set of selectors is responsive to data packets of a predetermined type of event to extract the attribute from the data packets. The method further includes assessing two or more data packets of the received data packets as correlating events if attributes extracted from the two or more data packets match. Additionally, the method includes accessing a correlation session in a data store for each correlating events match, the correlation session holding data items of tasks that process said correlating events.

  • Patent number: 7689435
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for managing composite business processes that include multiple trading mechanisms, such as requests for quotes (RFQs), auctions and contracts, or repeat passes through a single trading mechanism. The independence of the individual business processes that manage each trading mechanism is maintained, while each individual business process can be connected to other business processes to form a composite business process. Each individual business process that may be followed by another business process to form a composite process must have at least one state labeled as a conversion state with a conversion transition to another business process. A conversion transition spans the gap between an end state of one business process and the start state of another subsequent business process. When a conversion state is entered by an object, a determination is made as to whether the object is being managed by a composite flow, and if so, what business process to use next.

  • Patent number: 7677145
Abstract: This application relates to a cutting insert and method for machining a workpiece. This application further relates to a method for the machining of a workpiece using such an indexable insert. In this case, the term “machining” means, among other things, the first-time machining and/or a re-profiling of a wheel or of a brake disc of a wheel set of a railway vehicle. An object of at least one possible embodiment of the present application is to create a cutting insert that is as economical as possible. An additional object of at least one possible embodiment of the present application is the most effective method possible and a lathe tool that is well-suited for the machining of a workpiece, such as for the copy turning and/or for the first-time machining and/or for the re-profiling of a wheel or of a brake disc of a wheel set of a railway vehicle, using a cutting insert described herein.

  • Publication number: 20090265379
Abstract: A method of processing a source set of raw events of unknown event types to a target set of typed events, each raw event being a package of data items containing data values of detectable data types, includes the steps of: providing a library of event type objects each of which relates to a given event type and contains a structured set of attributes of given data types; for each raw event, determining at least one event type object in the library which meets the following criteria: (i) the data items of the raw event can each be mapped to one of the attributes of said event type object, and (ii) the detected data types of the raw event each match the given data type of the respective attribute mapped; and generating a typed event from the raw event by structuring the data values of the raw event in the form of the event type object determined.

  • Patent number: 7475080
Abstract: A hybrid approach for capturing meta data about Business Processing Monitoring (BPM) artifacts is based on a combination of a relational meta data model and a semantic net. Meta data about metrics and situations and their dimensional context are first captured in the method. Then, relational meta data are used to describe a generic data schema for metrics, situations and their dimensional context. The meta data from semantic nets are used to extend the meta data definitions. Data from a data warehouse are searched and managed with the schema described and managed with the relational and semantic net meta data.
