  • Publication number: 20110033625
Abstract: The use of a slurry-type seal coating which is flexible after hardening, containing, as component a), a system having a proportion of hydraulic binder and, as component b), an elastifying plastic, for aftertreatment, over the whole area, of a concrete body having a residual moisture content >2 CM % is claimed. The claimed slurry-type seal coatings which contain, as component a), preferably a cement mortar and, as component b), a homo-, co- or terpolymer in the preferred form of a liquid polymer dispersion result in a higher strength and less shrinkage of the concrete body surface treated with them. The concrete bodies treated therewith are protected against seepage water, pressurised water and water splashes, in particular in areas exposed to wetness.

  • Patent number: 6620879
Abstract: A description is given of pulverulent polymer compositions based on polyether carboxylates, which are characterized in that they comprise a) from 5 to 95% by weight of a water-soluble polymer made up of polyoxyalkylene-containing structural units, carboxylic acid and/or carboxylic anhydride monomers and, if desired, further monomers, and b) from 5 to 95% by weight of a finely divided mineral support material having a specific surface area of from 0.5 to 500 m2/g (determined by the BET method in accordance with DIN 66 131). • Patent number: 6211317
Abstract: Copolymers based on unsaturated dicarboxylic acid derivatives, oxyalkylene glycol alkenyl ethers, unsaturated dicarboximides and/or -amides and vinyl monomers are described, as also their use as additives for hydraulic binders, especially cement. The copolymers also have an excellent plasticizing effect—even if they are added in large quantities—when used in concrete mixtures with an extremely low water content, and they do not retard the setting process.

  • Patent number: 5891983
Abstract: Water-soluble formaldehyde-free polycondensation products based on amino-s-triazines with at least two amino groups and glyoxylic acid, which contain as further component at least one amino compound and where the molar ratio of amino-s-triazine to glyoxylic acid to amino compound is 1:0.5 to 6.0:0.1 to 2.0. These polycondensation products are excellently suited as additives for aqueous suspensions of inorganic binders, especially cement, lime and gypsum. Building material mixtures which contain these polycondensation products remain workable for a considerably longer time and, in spite of this, also set more quickly.

  • Patent number: 5798425
Abstract: Disclosed is a co-polymer based on oxyalkyleneglycol alkenyl ethers and unsaturated dicarboxylic acid derivatives, as well as vinylic polyalkyleneglycol, polysiloxane or ester compounds. These co-polymers can be used as additives for hydraulic binding agents, especially cement. The co-polymers of the invention have an excellent and long-lasting liquefying action without introducing large amounts of air pores into the binding agent mixtures, thereby preventing the loss of strength and stability of the hardened building materials.
