  • Publication number: 20240140163
Abstract: A vehicle thermal management system includes a vehicle heat pump system, a battery system coolant loop, a drive train coolant loop, and control electronics. The vehicle heat pump system includes a compressor, a cabin condenser, a cabin evaporator, a cabin blower, and a chiller. The battery system coolant loop is in thermal communication with a battery system and with the chiller and selectively in thermal communication with the drive train coolant loop. The control electronics control the components of the vehicle thermal management system to heat the cabin, cool the cabin, heat the battery system, cool the battery system, and cool the drive train. The control electronics may control the compressor to operate in an efficient mode or a lossy mode in which the compressor generates heat. The control electronics may also control the components of the vehicle thermal management system to precondition the battery.

  • Publication number: 20110016672
Abstract: A fluid transfer hose clamp maintains the connective ends of fluid transfer hoses in the vicinity of and adjacent to the connection points of medical equipment. The clamp is an integral body having an elongated top section, two end sections extending perpendicular to the top section, and two elongated bottom sections extending parallel to the top section. Each bottom section has a distal end, the distal end of one of the bottom sections being positioned beneath the distal end of the other bottom section. The top section and bottom sections form an opening through which the fluid transfer hoses extend. A bolt and nut connection, extending through all the sections, maintains the clamp in position around the equipment's supporting bracket and the hoses to maintain the hoses in position in relation to the medical equipment to which they are to be connected.

  • Patent number: 7762241
Abstract: Evaporative emissions management for a vehicle having a fuel tank and a low-vacuum internal combustion engine, including hybrid electric vehicles, include first and second canisters with the second canister disposed between the first canister and atmosphere. A refueling valve routes fuel vapors from the fuel storage tank through the first canister, and to the second canister when the first canister becomes saturated, during refueling. Other than during refueling, the refueling valve is closed to route fuel vapors around the first canister and directly into the second canister. First and second purge valves are controlled during canister regeneration or purging so air from atmosphere is routed primarily through the second canister to the engine to purge the second canister before the purge valves are operated to route air from atmosphere through both the second and first canisters to purge the first canister.

  • Publication number: 20070092913
Abstract: In one aspect, the present invention provides methods for determining whether a chemical agent modulates the biological activity of a GPR105 protein. The methods of this aspect of the invention include the steps of: (a) contacting a living cell, in vitro, with a chemical agent, wherein the living cell expresses a GPR105 protein having a biological activity; (b) determining whether the chemical agent modulates the biological activity of the GPR105 protein in the living cell; and (c) validating, in vivo, the modulating effect of the chemical agent on the biological activity of the GPR105 protein.
