  • Patent number: 7773582
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for performing dynamic Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) endpoint mapping is presented. At least one on net endpoint of a VOIP call is determined. An endpoint data structure is used to store, for each on net endpoint of the call, a key and at least one of an Internet Protocol (IP) address of the end point, a phone number associated with the endpoint, and/or a display name associated with the endpoint. The endpoint data structure is used to correlate call legs across a network. Heuristics of the VOIP call are determined, the heuristics including information relating to the main source call leg and the main destination call leg.

  • Patent number: 7721043
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture for managing write requests in cache directed to different storage groups. A determination is made of a high and low thresholds for a plurality of storage groups configured in a storage, wherein the high and low thresholds for one storage group indicate a high and low percentage of a cache that may be used to store write requests to the storage group. A determination is made of a number of tasks to assign to the storage groups based on the determined high and low thresholds for the storage groups, wherein each task assigned to one storage group destages write requests from the cache to the storage group.

  • Patent number: 7707460
Abstract: A method, apparatus and program storage device for protecting data write operations against write failures in a data storage device is provided. The data storage device includes a storage medium, a write cache including a copy of data written to the storage medium, and a controller configured for testing data write operations to the storage medium. The controller tests data write operations to the storage medium before the write cache is flushed to confirm that it is safe to flush the write cache. If the test fails, the data in the write cache can be recovered.

  • Publication number: 20090205882
Abstract: A powered load-moving tractor unit for moving a wheeled load comprises a tractor body with two powered ground-engaging tractor wheels steerable by a tiller and a draw bar for connecting the tractor body to the load through a releasable load hitch. To steer the load, the tractor body can be moved pivotally about a vertical axis relative to the draw bar. That vertical axis is defined by the two halves of a turntable mounted on the tractor body directly over the axis of rotation of the steerable ground-engaging wheels. The draw bar is rigidly connected over the top half of the turntable and extends down the front of the tractor body to the load hitch. The load hitch comprises telescopically inter-engageable elements on the draw bar and the load, and a latch mechanism that is remotely releasable from the end of the draw bar remote from the load hitch.

  • Publication number: 20090201372
Abstract: A method and apparatus for integrated ATM surveillance of an area of interest, such as an automated teller machine (ATM), is presented. An embodiment includes a surveillance system for an ATM utilizing multiple cameras aimed at the user, the card slot, the cash dispenser, the surrounding areas and internally in the card reader (to link the card used to the ATM user). The cameras are constantly powered and begin to record images after a sensor is activated. A buffer of recorded imagery is maintained such that when the sensors are activated, the video processing equipment can store a pre-defined amount of time before the sensor is activated. The buffer allows for the video capture of events just prior to the activation of the sensor. A time stamp and any other relevant data from the cameras may also be included with the stored recorded video.

  • Patent number: 7472389
Abstract: A system and method are provided for apportioning additional thread activation time to computer application threads that experience activation time budget overruns. A variable is set to a predetermined system pad time value, and an application thread is activated for an actual activation time. The application thread's actual activation time is compared with its activation time budget. If the actual thread activation time exceeds the thread activation time budget, the system pad time value is adjusted to thereby obtain an updated pad time value. By providing a system pad time that application threads may draw from, the pad time allotted to individual application threads may be reduced when compared to a worst-case scenario.

  • Publication number: 20080243201
Abstract: A combination pacer/defibrillator is tailored for bradycardia patients. In one example, its shock-delivery specificity exceeds its sensitivity to shockable ventricular tachyarrhythmias. In another example, its specificity exceeds 95%, or 99%, or even 99.5%. Sensitivity is programmed to a high desired sensitivity value, but only if it can be done without decreasing the specificity below the desired specificity threshold value. This can be conceptualized as “avoiding at all costs” delivering false shocks, even at the expense of failing to deliver a shock to a treatable ventricular tachyarrhythmia. Specificity enhancements include, among other things, inhibiting shock delivery when the patient is breathing or not supine, using multiple channels or a high rate VT/VF detection threshold.

  • Publication number: 20080223714
Abstract: A method and sputter-deposition system for depositing a layer composed of a mixture of materials and having a predetermined refractive index are provided. The sputter-deposition system includes a plurality of target cathodes, each of which comprises a target material having a different composition, that are powered by a single DC power supply. The plurality of target cathodes are cosputtered to deposit a layer composed of a mixture of materials on a substrate. The composite refractive index of the layer is controlled by adjusting an operating parameter of the plurality of target cathodes. Suitable operating parameters include cathode power, cathode voltage, cathode current, an angle between a cathode support and the substrate, and a flow rate of a reactive gas.
