  • Patent number: 10591474
Abstract: Systems and methods for low-cost point-of-care immunoassay are provided. The system comprises an emitter, two optical interference filters, a microscope slide, a photodiode detector, a circuit, and a measuring unit. The detector is placed upon the second filter, the slide, the first filter, and then the emitter. The emitter comprises non-organic light emitting diodes (LEDs) or organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) that emits light of a first color. The slide is spotted with biofluid from a patient. Biomarkers in the biofluid is bound with immobilized fluorophores that emit light of a second color when stimulated by the light of the first color. The first and second filters band-pass the light of the first and second colors, respectively. The detector detects light of the second color. The current outputted from the detector is converted into a relatively-large output voltage by a circuit. A measuring unit measures the ramp time of the output voltage.

  • Publication number: 20200069879
Abstract: A cannula comprising a hollow tube made of a biocompatible, thermoplastic polymer, memory shape material, tipped with an injection needle at it distal end, assumes desired shapes as it distally emerges from a lumen or channel of an instrument such as an introducer or endoscope. The desires shape includes a curvature conforming to an inverse tangent function. The cannula may be supplied alone, with or without an injection needle, and in a sterile pouch, for use with a device of an user's choice that has a suitable lumen or channel to guide the cannula, of the cannula may be used without such an instrument.

  • Patent number: 10570905
Abstract: A centrifugal compressor for a turbocharger includes an inlet-adjustment mechanism in an air inlet for the compressor, operable to move between a closed position, an open position, and a super-open position. The compressor also includes a ported shroud system. The inlet-adjustment mechanism includes a plurality of blades disposed about the air inlet and movable radially inwardly and outwardly for defining the various positions. In the closed position, the effective diameter of air inlet is reduced and the blades block flow through the ported shroud system. In the open position, the blades still block the ported shroud but the effective inlet diameter is increased relative to the closed position. In the super-open position, the blades unblock the ported shroud so that an additional amount of flow can pass through the ported shroud, thereby shifting the compressor's choke flow line to higher flow rates.

  • Publication number: 20190303597
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for enabling a restricted multiple-application user experience via single-application (SA) modes. A plurality of SA applications on a computer device may be configured with SA modes. The SA mode of a running SA application may prevent all other applications from running. Multiple SA applications may be linked, enabling a user to navigate between the linked applications while being restricted by each SA application's SA mode. A link may involve a transfer event that deactivates the SA mode of a first SA application and exits the first SA application. A second SA application is then called, whereupon the SA mode of the second SA application is activated. One SA application may be configured as a dashboard application. The dashboard application may include a password dependent escape event. The escape event may deactivate the SA mode of the dashboard application and exit the restricted multiple-application experience.
