  • Patent number: 10304223
Abstract: Disclosed are exemplified methods and systems that uses scientific and statistical basis to determine whether wells can be removed from a monitoring network and/or whether the frequency of well sampling can be reduced and/or whether the number of constituents being analyzed can be reduced. The exemplified method facilitates a more accurate and precise assessment of the sufficiency of the monitoring in decision making processes to modify the monitoring protocol of wells at a given contaminated site as well as to provide a defensible assessment and analysis that is empirical, graphical, and easy to understand.

  • Publication number: 20190133307
Abstract: A tool pouch, tool bag, utility pouch, or similar, comprising one or more individual tool pouches, used by tradesmen in difficult and/or dangerous environments where it would be convenient and preferred for safety reasons for the tool pouches to remain closed or remain open without manual intervention. Tool pouches within a tool pouch are configured with bi-stable hinges in which an over-center cam-spring arrangement alternatively maintains either a fully-closed or a fully-open configuration until an intentional opening or closing action by a user. Individual tool pouches within a tool pouch may be opened or closed independently of the open or closed positions of other tool pouches.

  • Publication number: 20190133306
Abstract: A tool pouch, utility pouch, or the like, used on traditional tool belts with spring hinged closure device in the open position forces the mouth of the tool pouch into a fully open position creating greater access to the contents of the tool pouch. When the mouth of the tool pouch is pressed into a closed position, it secures the content of the tool pouch therein.

  • Patent number: 10251241
Abstract: Techniques and architecture are disclosed for gesture-based control techniques for lighting systems. In some cases, the lighting system may include a camera and/or other suitable componentry to interpret gestures made by a user for controlling light output. In some such cases, the gesture performed and/or the location of the gesture may determine how the light output is controlled. In some cases, the gestures may be performed by moving a mobile computing device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or dedicated light controller device. In some such cases, sensors included in or otherwise operatively coupled to the computing device (gravitational sensors, accelerometers, gyroscopic sensors, etc.) may be used to detect the movement of the device and the related gestures. The gestures may be used to navigate a user interface that allows a user to control light output by adjusting different attributes of the light output, such as light intensity and color.

  • Patent number: 10210056
Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and device that assists with caching filesystem metadata to a partner non-volatile random-access memory (NVRAM) includes caching metadata related to an incoming data modifying operation generated by a client computing device to at least one storage controller device in a cluster. A service interruption event that makes a data block present in the storage device of a hosting storage node inaccessible to the client computing device is determined for during the caching. The requested metadata block from the at least one NVRAM is retrieved when the service interruption event is determined. The cache is warmed using the retrieved metadata block from the at least one NVRAM.

  • Patent number: 10143597
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to assembling, advancing, reorienting, and/or transferring stretched elastic parts during the assembly of absorbent articles. As described herein, a transfer assembly reorients a stretched elastic part from a first orientation, wherein the direction of stretch is generally parallel to the machine direction, to a second orientation, wherein the direction of stretch is generally perpendicular to the machine direction. The reoriented elastic part is then transferred to a carrier while maintaining the stretched condition of the elastic part. The orientation and/or configuration of vacuum apertures in a carrier surface relative to the direction of stretch of the elastic part and relative to the machine direction helps to prevent the elastic part from contracting, while at the same time helps to allow the elastic part to slide off the carrier surface without snagging and/or sticking to aperture perimeter edges.

  • Publication number: 20180318143
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for mechanically bonding substrates together. The apparatuses may include a pattern roll having three or more pattern elements protruding radially outward, wherein each pattern element includes a pattern surface. The pattern surfaces are also separated from each other by gaps having minimum widths. The pattern roll may be adjacent an anvil roll to define a nip between the pattern surfaces and the anvil roll, wherein the pattern roll is biased toward the anvil roll to define a nip pressure between pattern surfaces and the anvil roll. As substrates advance between the pattern roll and anvil roll, the substrates are compressed between the anvil roll and the pattern surfaces to form a discrete bond region between the substrates. During the bonding process, some of yielded substrate material also flows from under the pattern surfaces and into the gaps to form gap grommet regions.

  • Patent number: 10117599
Abstract: A subject interface appliance (10) configured to deliver a breathable substance to a subject. The subject interface appliance includes a primary interface (12) configured to deliver a breathable substance to the subject, and a secondary interface (14) configured to obtain gas samples from the airway of the subject. The secondary interface is resiliently held at a default position with respect to the primary interface. The default position is located such that installation of the primary and secondary interfaces on the subject results in the application of a bias force to the secondary interface that holds the secondary interface in place.
