  • Patent number: 9908654
Abstract: An apparatus for storing, transporting and dispensing conveyor belts is described. The apparatus, in the form of a crate, has top and bottom conventional pallets, allowing for easy handling and strength for additional stacked crates. The center of the crate holds a hub assembly that moves rotationally, and allows smooth transition from consecutive layers of the conveyor belt wrapped thereon. During shipment, the roll of conveyor belt lies on its side. In one embodiment, a center pipe axle of the spool passes through holes in the top and bottom pallets. Alternatively, the center pipe axle passes through channels created between planks of the top and bottom pallets. These configurations secure the roll in the crate, and allow it to turn freely when loaded or unloaded.

  • Patent number: 9855395
Abstract: Gas-pressure-based testing, in some embodiments, features a self-leak-testing module (120) that includes an internal sensor and is configured for measuring, using the sensor, gas leakage (179, 180) from a set of walls that defines respective gas passageways that both exist within the module and are incident to the gas pressure measured. One or more walls of the set may extend outside the module. The module can be configured for deciding, based on a result of the measuring, whether a magnitude of the leakage exceeds a predetermined threshold. A source for applying the pressure may be internal (138) or external (104, 132, 135). Gas pressure based pattern recognition can be used to identify, optionally during treatment and in real time, one or more leak sites responsible for the leakage. The module is implementable as a ventilation monitoring module that measures differential flow of a breathing circuit, the testing serving to prevent cross-contamination of patients.

  • Patent number: 9839754
Abstract: Pressure support therapy is provided to a subject. The effectiveness of the provided pressure support therapy is determined and/or the therapy is titrated based on determinations of the concentration of one or more gaseous molecular species in gas exhaled by the subject. The determinations of composition of gas exhaled by the subject are obtained from samples with relatively little distortion caused by dilution of expired gases from gases provided to the airway of the subject as part of the pressure support therapy.

  • Publication number: 20170290712
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to assembling, advancing, reorienting, and/or transferring stretched elastic parts during the assembly of absorbent articles. As described herein, a transfer assembly reorients a stretched elastic part from a first orientation, wherein the direction of stretch is generally parallel to the machine direction, to a second orientation, wherein the direction of stretch is generally perpendicular to the machine direction. The reoriented elastic part is then transferred to a carrier while maintaining the stretched condition of the elastic part. The orientation and/or configuration of vacuum apertures in a carrier surface relative to the direction of stretch of the elastic part and relative to the machine direction helps to prevent the elastic part from contracting, while at the same time helps to allow the elastic part to slide off the carrier surface without snagging and/or sticking to aperture perimeter edges.
