  • Publication number: 20210338856
Abstract: Inductive heating systems and method of controlling the same to reduce biological carryover are disclosed herein. An example system includes an induction heater including a tank circuit, the tank circuit including a work coil and a sense coil. The sense coil is to detect a magnetic field generated by the work coil and to output signals in response to the detection. The example system includes a controller to cause the tank circuit to oscillate at a resonant frequency in response to the signals and a power drive unit in communication with the controller and the induction heater. The power drive unit is to adjust power provided to the induction heater in response to the controller driving the tank circuit to oscillate at the resonant frequency.

  • Patent number: 10533590
Abstract: Provided are a connector and a connection system for concrete barriers. The connector is configured to slip-fit into a cross-shaped gap formed between the concrete barriers. The connector includes a saddle member and a fork member. The saddle member includes a base plate and peripheral plates. The peripheral plates extend at angles from the base plate to define a channel extending along the length of the base plate. The fork member extends from the base plate of the saddle member. The fork member includes an elongated base, flanges, and legs. The elongated base extends in the channel between the peripheral plates at least along the width of the base plate. The flanges are transverse to the elongated base forming a cross-shaped structure disposed in the channel with the flanges that extend toward the open ends of the channel. The legs extend separately from the elongated base.

  • Patent number: 9897123
Abstract: Connector to slip-fit into a cross-shaped gap between barriers. The barriers are engaged by a lock extending in the gap into slots through sidewalls terminating the barriers. The connector includes a saddle and fork. The saddle includes a base plate and peripheral plates. The base plate is to extend over the gap and partially atop the barriers. The peripheral plates are to be disposed over front and back walls of the barriers. The base plate and peripheral plates define open ends. The fork extends below the base plate and includes a base, flanges, and legs. The base is to he disposed atop the lock between the sidewalls. The flanges are disposed transversely to the base forming a cross-shaped structure to be disposed atop the lock with the flanges extended toward the open ends into the slots. The legs extend separately from the base to straddle the lock between the sidewalls.

  • Patent number: 9844249
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a jewelry element which includes two layers—a cladding layer and a substrate layer, each layer being its own alloy. The cladding layer and the substrate layer each include a base metal such as silver or gold at the same percentages so that the resulting jewelry element can be labeled in accordance with one or more industry-wide requirements. The cladding layer is further enhanced by introduction of a metal providing additional hardness when included in the alloy. By limiting the “hardness” metal or metals to being deposed only in the cladding layer, less of the hardness metal need be used, thereby reducing cost yet retaining the requisite hardness characteristic. Each of the alloys may further contain other metals for any of a number of reasons, including but not limited to, tarnish resistance.

  • Patent number: 8223995
Abstract: A six channel guitar amplifier and speaker cabinet for producing orchestral guitar sounds and of the type having a hexagon shaped cabinet which will house six speakers (14) which will mount to six floating baffle boards (14a) which communicate at the six points of the hexagon cabinet and will vibrate independently. In addition a guitar with a hexaphonic pickup (16) will be received by a six way splitter box (18) through a seven pin cable (18b) and will feed the hexaphonic pickup signal into a six channel preamp (10a) to boost the weak signal inherent in hex pickups. The six channel hex preamp will feed into the six separate guitar amps (12) with six conventional patch cords (not shown). The six separate guitar amps outputs (12a) will be connected to the six speakers through conventional speaker cables facilitating independent amplification for each guitar string, resulting in hexaphonic guitar sound.

  • Publication number: 20100030359
Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for designing a product using technology readiness levels for materials. Entries identifying materials and technology readiness levels for the materials are stored in a database. A first design is developed using a first material selected from the database, wherein the first material has a first technology readiness level identified from the database. A second design is developed using a second material selected from the database, wherein the second material has a second technology readiness level identified from the database. The first design is compared to the second design using the first technology readiness level and the second technology readiness level to form a comparison. A selection is made between the first design and the second design using the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20070035907
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an irrigation controller, method and software program product for generating valve control signal for energizing a valve. The irrigation controller includes a valve actuation control module selectively coupled each of plurality of control nodes and generating a valve actuation control signal thereon. The valve actuation control signal is a continuous control voltage over a plurality of control signal periods for selectively energizing the selected irrigation valve. Also integrated in the irrigation is a valve chatter module for selectively coupled each of plurality of control nodes and generating a valve chatter control signal thereon. The valve chatter control signal has a plurality of duty cycles, with each duty cycle defined as one control signal period and at least one naught signal period. The control signal period has a control voltage over a first portion of the control signal period and a non-control voltage over a second portion of the control signal period.

  • Patent number: 6125657
Abstract: A hinged hoop-style earring where a post is curved to conform to the outside shape of the back of the earring. In this design, when the earring is closed, the post, and a protruding end of the post, substantially follows the shape of a curved outer edge of the back of the earring. Thus, the post and the protruding end of the post is no longer positioned away from the surface of the earring. Instead, it substantially lies within or adjacent to the contour the curved shape of the back half of the earring and, therefore, will not distort its aesthetical appearance and will not be dangerous.
