  • Patent number: 9708540
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for pyrolysing a solid organic feed material are disclosed. Solid organic material is moved through a reaction chamber and exposed to a temperature profile within the chamber that dries and pyrolyses the organic material and releases water vapour and a volatile products gas phase. The water vapour phase and the volatile products gas phase are moved counter-current to the solid organic material so that the water vapour phase and condensable components of the volatile products gas phase condense in cooler upstream sections of the chamber and form a liquid water product and a separate liquid oil product. The liquid water product is discharged via an outlet along the length of the chamber and a dried and pyrolysed solid product is discharged from a downstream outlet in the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20160112750
Abstract: Aspects described herein include a user display unit that determines a portion of a presentation currently being viewed by a user through a transparent display. For example, if the display area is a theater screen, only a portion of the screen may be viewable to the user through the transparent display. The display unit may display metadata on the transparent display with a spatial relationship to one or more objects in the presentation. For example, the display unit may output a text bubble near an actor in the presentation that provides an interesting fact about the actor which may overlay or occlude the presentation. In one aspect, if the object in the presentation moves or the display unit is reoriented, the display unit may move the metadata to maintain the spatial relationship between the object and the metadata in the transparent display.

  • Patent number: 9237093
Abstract: An adaptive router anticipates possible future congestion and enables selection of an alternative route before the congestion occurs, thereby avoiding the congestion. The adaptive router may use a primary route until it predicts congestion will occur. The adaptive router measures packet traffic volume, such as flit volume, on a primary network interface to anticipate the congestion. The adaptive router maintains a trailing sum of the number of flits handled by the primary network interface over a trailing time period. If the sum exceeds a threshold value, the adaptive router assumes the route will become congested, and the adaptive router enables considering routing future packets, or at least the current packet, over possible secondary routes.
