  • Patent number: 10842390
Abstract: The present invention includes systems and methods directed towards a wearable device (100, 200) that can measure health parameters in two levels. The wearable device can measure a health parameter of a user using an attached sensor (112). This sensor measurement is checked against a threshold database (126, 146, 156) that details an action to be taken if the sensor measurement satisfies a health threshold. The health can be predetermined by the user or by a professional. This action can be a request to the user of the wearable device to move the wearable device to another part of his/her body so that the wearable device can gather a second sensor measurement that can provide more detail or context for the first sensor measurement. The wearable device can thus provide two levels of sensor data measurement, which it can store and synchronize to storage on a network/cloud service (104) or to another electronic device (102).

  • Patent number: 10809048
Abstract: Probe systems and methods for calibrating capacitive height sensing measurements. A probe system includes a probe assembly with a probe support body that supports a capacitive displacement sensor that terminates in a sensing tip relative to a substrate and that is configured to generate an uncalibrated capacitive height measurement. A method of utilizing the probe system to generate a calibrated capacitive height measurement includes receiving a height calibration structure architecture; calculating a layer impedance magnitude of each substrate layer of the height calibration structure; and calculating a total layer impedance magnitude of the height calibration structure. The method further includes measuring a measured impedance magnitude and calculating the calibrated capacitive height measurement.

  • Patent number: 10803843
Abstract: A computer user interface (UI) is capable of generating a sound when a predetermined event occurs. The sound generated when the predetermined event occurs may possess at least some characteristics of a predominant natural language used by a user and/or a location of a computer implementing the UI. This enables the user to quickly assimilate the sound generated when the predetermined event occurs. Because the user quickly assimilates the sound generated when the predetermined event occurs, the user is able to rapidly respond to the predetermined event, at times using the computer UI, which reduces undesirable memory use, processor use and/or battery drain associated with a computing device that implements the computer UI.

  • Patent number: 10785047
Abstract: Information regarding a user's personal schedule is received at an electronic computing device. Information regarding current and future utility costs is received. The information regarding the user's personal schedule, the information regarding the user's location and the information regarding the current and future utility costs is used to determine at least one financial impact based on a temperature setting. The at least one financial impact includes estimated costs for time intervals and historical billing cycles. A temperature effecting device or an energy effecting device in the home of the user is controlled using the at least one financial impact.

  • Publication number: 20200276710
Abstract: A system for improving navigation of robots in a space with a plurality of pedestrians or other movable objects or obstacles. The system includes a traffic analysis assembly that has a traffic sensor(s) sensing movement of the obstacles in the space. The traffic analysis assembly further includes a processor running a flow module that processes (such as the Gunnar-Farneback optical flow algorithm) output from the traffic sensor to generate traffic analysis results, which include density values for the obstacles in the space and motion information for the obstacles in the space (e.g., speed and direction). The system includes a robot with a controller running a navigation module selecting a navigation route between a current location of the robot and a target location in the space using the traffic analysis result. The workspace is configured such that the obstacles such as pedestrians have unregulated flow patterns in the space.
