  • Patent number: 4452501
Abstract: An electrical connector comprises a pair of mating dielectric connector bodies each having a plurality of electrical contacts which engage the electrical contacts of the other when the connector bodies are coupled. The coupled connector bodies are locked together by a projection on one connector body and a cooperating lock arm which is part of a resilient metal clip which is attached to the other connector body and which engages an electrical contact on the one connector body when the coupled connector bodies are locked together. The resilient metal clip has a central slot for attaching a conductor to the clip and for disengaging the lock arm with a screwdriver or the like.

  • Patent number: 4448477
Abstract: An electric socket terminal has an elongated, resilient socket comprising two axially spaced split tubes joined by a circumferential array of juxtaposed spring strips and means for retaining the electric socket terminal in a cavity of an insulator block. The retaining means is beside the elongated, resilient socket and includes a U-shaped guard and a resilient latch tang. The U-shaped guard has axially spaced legs which are integrally attached to the respective split tubes and the resilient latch tang is integrally attached at one end to one of the legs of the U-shaped guard and extends generally axially of the elongated, resilient socket.

  • Patent number: 4346959
Abstract: An electrical connector comprises a plurality of female terminals which are attached to conductor wires which are passed through the longitudinal assembly slots of a connector body after which the female terminals are pulled into the terminal cavities of the connector body through contact openings at one end of the connector body. The female terminals have projecting tabs disposed in the longitudinal assembly slots to orient the female terminals in the terminal cavities and latch fingers to retain the female terminals in the terminal cavities. The latch fingers are accessible through the longitudinal slots to release them from cooperating latch shoulders in the terminal cavities so that the female terminals may be individually removed from the terminal cavities through the contact openings.

  • Patent number: 4239319
Abstract: A diode package is interconnected between matable plug and socket connectors of wiring harnesses. The diode package comprises a connector body housing a subassembly comprising a pair of hermaphroditic terminals connected to the leads of a diode. The connector body has socket and plug portions at opposite ends which are shaped to mate in an inverted relationship. The hermaphroditic terminals are of opposite hand and each have box-like female and male blade contacts at opposite ends which are shaped to mate in an inverted relationship.

  • Patent number: 4209221
Abstract: A two-piece socket terminal is crimped to the end of an ignition wire and detachably connected to a spark plug stud terminal. The terminal comprises an attachment member of crimpable semi-hard steel having a corrugated channel at one end and a tee-shaped support at an opposite end, and a socket member of spring tempered steel having a split sleeve at one end and a longitudinal tongue at an opposite end. The attachment and socket members are secured to each other by clamping arms of the tee-shaped support bent over the longitudinal tongue. The tongue has circumferential tabs behind the clamping arms providing a mechanical interlock in the pull-off direction while the foremost internal rib of the corrugated channel provides a stop in the push-on direction. The terminal provides a direct electrical connection between the ignition wire conductor core and the socket piece which is enhanced by forward projecting tabs of the corrugated channel. In-line and angled embodiments are disclosed.
