  • Publication number: 20070120934
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments are directed to the printing of mixed output jobs automatically as a single integrated job. More particularly, a merging module connects two print systems, for example, at approximately 90 degrees to one another, although other configurations are possible. The merging module includes at least one sheet rotator in a plane that is common to both the paper paths of both print engines. It also includes at least two bypass paths (one above and one below the rotator) to route the two paper paths around the rotator and enable both print engines to deliver their output to the appropriate finishing device.

  • Publication number: 20060169549
Abstract: A golf car having a hydraulic disk brake system responsive to hydraulic fluid pressure generated from a master cylinder. A brake pedal and associated linkage provides input to a master cylinder to generate a hydraulic fluid pressure to control a brake caliper assembly. A flexible brake line is fluidly coupled between the brake pedal and the disk brake system for carrying the hydraulic fluid. The brake line is comprised of a flexible inner member and a braided outer member. The brake pedal has a range of travel, where a first portion of the range defines a service mode of operation and a second portion of the range defines a parking mode of operation. In the parking mode of operation, the brake pedal and linkage engages a detent to maintain application of the brake to provide a parking mode of operation.

  • Patent number: 6947957
Abstract: A method of detecting a fault or a potential fault of a DBMS operating in a clustered environment is provided. The DBMS includes a log of diagnostic information that is related to the status of the DBMS. At predetermined intervals, monitoring of the log of diagnostic information is conducted for at least one of a plurality of predefined conditions occurring anywhere in the clustered environment. The predefined conditions are related to a fault or a potential fault of the DBMS. Before a fault of the DBMS occurs, the presence of at least one of the predefined conditions in the log is detected. A response to the detected predefined condition (e.g., a fail-over) is provided.

  • Patent number: 6831329
Abstract: A quick punch-through integrated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) includes a drift region and a gate. The drift region has a drift region dopant concentration and a drift region thickness. The gate has a gate capacitance. The drift region dopant concentration, drift region thickness and gate capacitance are adjusted dependent at least in part upon the PNP gain of the IGBT to maintain the potential difference between the gate and emitter at a level greater than the IGBT threshold voltage when the collector voltage reaches the bus voltage. This insures that the hole carrier concentration remains approximately equal to or greater than the drift region dopant concentration when the depletion layer punches through to the buffer region during the turn-off delay. Thus, the collector voltage overshoot and the rate of change of voltage and current are controlled, and electromagnetic interference is reduced, during turn off.

  • Publication number: 20030236740
Abstract: A system and method for applying for a credit card, preferably at a point of sale, is disclosed. The system employs an automated interactive voice response system preferably sponsored by a credit card issuer. The user calls into the system using a standard telephone, and enters credit assessment information about the customer using the key pad of the telephone in response to verbal questions posed by the system. In one embodiment, only numeric information concerning the customer is entered, such as the customer's social security number. This credit assessment information is used to retrieve a credit report or score from a credit bureau database, which is used by the system to electronically decide whether to issue credit and to what extent and to establish a customer account. The system verbally provides information to the user regarding the credit assessment so that the customer's credit purchase can be quickly consummated.

  • Patent number: 6042673
Abstract: A method of making a flangeless seam for a disposable article including the following steps: A first member of the disposable article is provided. A conductive member is provided on the first member. The first member is folded about the conductive member providing opposing first proximal and first distal portions of the first member, the conductive member being disposed at least partially between the opposing first proximal and first distal portions. A second member of the disposable article is provided in a folded configuration juxtaposed at least a portion of the first member to form a laminate including the first member and the second member. An electromagnetic field is applied across at least a portion of the laminate to heat the conductive member to a temperature which joins at least a portion of the first member and at least a portion of the second member.
