Patent number: 11372115Abstract: The localization of a vehicle is determined using less expensive and computationally robust equipment compared to conventional methods. Localization is determined by estimating the position of a vehicle relative to a map of the environment, and the process thereof includes using a map of the surrounding environment of the vehicle, a model of the motion of the frame of reference of the vehicle (e.g., ego-motion), sensor data from the surrounding environment, and a process to match sensory data to the map. Localization also includes a process to estimate the position based on the sensor data, the motion of the frame of reference of the vehicle, and/or the map. Such methods and systems enable the use of less expensive components while achieving useful results for a variety of applications, such as autonomous vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2019Date of Patent: June 28, 2022Assignee: CYNGN, INC.Inventors: I-Chung Joseph Lin, Elena Ramona Stefanescu, Dhivya Sukumar, Sumit Saxena

Patent number: 10382581Abstract: A server automatically generates a response to a request received from a first user. The server generates response templates for the second user. The server receives the request from the first user, where the request includes request values for request fields. The server selects the second user to respond to the request received from the first user. The server automatically selects one of the response templates for generating the response to the request. The selected one of the response templates is determined to be the response template that most closely matches the request received from the first user. The server automatically generates the response using the selected response template including populating one or more placeholder values with information extracted from the request received from the first user. The server transmits the generated response to the first user.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2017Date of Patent: August 13, 2019Assignee: THUMBTACK, INC.Inventors: Joseph Lin Tsay, Alexander Cheston, Weikang Wan, Giles Lavelle, Yue Zhao, Togan Adrien Olczak

Publication number: 20180120964Abstract: Embodiments of amplifiers and electrodes for capacitive styluses are disclosed. The amplifiers detect an input signal from a capacitive touch sensor, such as a touchscreen or touchpad, amplify and invert the signal, and emit the amplified and inverted signal to cause the capacitive touch sensor to detect a touch. The electrode sets, or tips, pair a sensing electrode and an emitting electrode, shielded from each other to limit interference, in a fine-point non-deforming configuration that improves usability over existing stylus tips.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2017Publication date: May 3, 2018Inventors: Zachary Joseph ZELIFF, Yueh Hua LI, TK KAO, Joseph LIN, Kuang HOU

Publication number: 20180011874Abstract: Peer-to-peer redundant file server system and methods include clients that determine a target storage provider to contact for a particular storage transaction based on a pathname provided by the filesystem and a predetermined scheme such as a hash function applied to a portion of the pathname. Servers use the same scheme to determine where to store relevant file information so that the clients can locate the file information. The target storage provider may store the file itself and/or may store metadata that identifies one or more other storage providers where the file is stored. A file may be replicated in multiple storage providers, and the metadata may include a list of storage providers from which the clients can select (e.g., randomly) in order to access the file.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2017Publication date: January 11, 2018Inventors: Francesco Lacapra, Peter Wallace Steele, Bruno Sartirana, Ernest Ying Sue Hua, I Chung Joseph Lin, Samuel Sui-Lun Li, Nathanael John Diller, Thomas Reynold Ramsdell, Don Nguyen, Kyle Dinh Tran
