  • Patent number: 12151150
Abstract: A ground traversing, electrically driven drone travels along a preprogrammed path that corresponds to pass catcher's travel path during a play, matching the pass catcher's speed and run cuts. The play is wirelessly communicated to the drone by a handheld electronic device located remote of the drone. A target is located on the drone so that a quarterback can throw a football at the target in order to refine the quarterback's timing and accuracy for the play. Sensors onboard the drone track both the football's and quarterback's speed and travel trajectories so that such data can be collected, along with the drone's travel path, and stored onboard the drone's control unit and eventually fed into 3-D reconstruction software for analysis by the quarterback and coaching staff. The target rotates so that the target either faces in a fixed direction or constantly faces the quarterback during execution of drone's maneuvers.

Abstract: A replacement heart valve implant includes an expandable framework including a commissure post and defining a central lumen, and a valve leaflet disposed within the central lumen, the valve leaflet including a mounting tab secured to the expandable framework at the commissure post. The commissure post is configured to hold the mounting tab in compression. A tool for assembling a replacement heart valve implant includes a tool body comprising first and second body portions, first and second handle portions extending from the body portions, and first and second post engagement arms extending from the body portions. Translation of the first handle portion toward the second handle portion translates the first post engagement arm away from the second post engagement arm.

  • Publication number: 20240180694
Abstract: An implantable medical device is adapted to be implanted at an implantation site such as a native cardiac valve annulus. The implantable medical device includes an expandable frame that is adapted to expand from a collapsed configuration for delivery to an expanded configuration for deployment, one or more valve cusps secured relative to the expandable frame, an inner skirt surrounding a portion of the expandable frame, and an outer skirt surrounding a portion of the expandable frame, the outer skirt attached to the expandable frame via one or more sutures that axially secure the outer skirt relative to the expandable frame yet allow the outer skirt to move radially relative to the expandable frame. The outer skirt may move radially outwards in response to fluid pressure, thereby improving fluid sealing relative to the native cardiac valve annulus.

  • Publication number: 20230110138
Abstract: A device for radially compressing a stent may include a housing including a central opening and a first iris positioned adjacent the housing. The first iris includes a first circumferential ring and a first plurality of arms extending radially inward from the first circumferential ring to define a first central opening. The device may include a second iris axially offset from the first iris and including a second circumferential ring and a second plurality of arms extending radially inward from the second circumferential ring to define a second central opening. Rotation of the circumferential ring(s) relative to the housing changes a size of their respective central opening(s). The plurality of arms may shift between a first configuration and a second configuration via rotation of the circumferential ring(s) relative to the housing.

  • Patent number: 9631382
Abstract: A product and method for sealing cracks in pavements, roofs, or the like utilizes a can containing a tar sealant. The tar sealant is a solid at room temperature and assumes a fluid state pourable from the can when the tar sealant is heated in the can to a temperature above the melting temperature of the tar sealant. A spout and handle that can withstand the heat are fitted to the can for pouring the melted tar sealant in a fluid state from the can into a crack to be sealed.

  • Patent number: 9552259
Abstract: A method and system are provided for dynamic provisioning of snapshots in a data backup system with a software defined storage (SDS). The method implemented by the backup system receives a snapshot provisioning request including a user selection of snapshot objectives by a dynamic snapshot module, converts a file system reference mapping to a logical unit number (LUN) of the SDS, consolidates the snapshot provisioning request to the mapping and snapshot frequency, and passes the consolidated snapshot provisioning request to the SDS to provision snapshots.

  • Publication number: 20160134142
Abstract: A protective case for a portable device includes an external charging ports and an external charging station. An internal charging plug attaches to a portable device housed within the case. When power is supplied to the case, it may supply power and thereby charge a phone within the case or may supply power to the charging station in order to charge a secondary device. The charging station may include an inductive charging mechanism for use with secondary devices that may be charged by induction without direct physical electrical communication. The protective case may include its own internal ancillary battery. The protective case may optionally be used to charge a secondary device using power supplied by the battery of the phone housed inside it. The protective case may also be used to charge the phone of the housed battery using power supplied from a device adjacent to its external charging station.

  • Patent number: 8920184
Abstract: A high strength electrical connector includes an outer cylindrical, rigid support cover open at both ends and preferably comprised of a high strength metal. A first electrical lead extends through a tension bushing attached to one end of the support cover. A mating receptacle through which a second electrical lead passes is securely attached to a second opposed end of the support cover. Electrical connection between the ends of the first and second electrical leads is established within the support cover. Securely attaching the ends of the first and second electrical leads together within the support cover, which is preferably comprised of a high strength metal, directs axial and transverse forces exerted on the first electrical lead through the support cover, thus bypassing the electrical connection.
