  • Patent number: 9675441
Abstract: A bearing component 2 for a joint replacement prosthesis comprises a first bearing element 4; a second bearing element 6, and a linking element 8, operatively connecting the first and second bearing elements 4, 6 and permitting relative motion there between. The flexible linking element 8 prevents dislocation of mobile bearings in a total knee replacement prosthesis. The invention also relates to a bridging element which retains the linking element 8 with some play, which acts as a ligament support 2051, and which causes a deflection of the line of action of a ligament 1018. A joint replacement prosthesis is also disclosed comprising a biasing element 1140 or a tensioning element 1220 operatively coupled to the artificial ligament 1018. The biasing element 1140 or tensioning element 1220 may be housed in the stem of a tibia tray 1006.

  • Patent number: 9660814
Abstract: Systems, methods and devices for providing digital certificates are disclosed. In a method conducted at a remotely accessible server, a request, including an identifier, for a digital certificate is received. A communication address of a mobile device, having a certificate store module in communication therewith, associated with the identifier is then obtained. A request for a digital certificate is transmitted to the certificate store module via the mobile device and the certificate store module is configured to prompt a user thereof, via the mobile device, for a passcode before releasing the certificate. The digital certificate is received from the certificate store module via the mobile device in response to entry of a passcode into the certificate store module which corresponds to an offset stored in the certificate store module. The digital certificate is then transmitted to a communication device for use in digitally signing or encrypting a data message.

  • Patent number: 9660123
Abstract: This invention includes a Fresnel lens assembly positioned relative to an energy receiver, onto which the lens assembly focuses sunlight for collection and conversion. The Fresnel lens assembly includes a thin polymeric film with prisms molded into or attached to the film. This invention also includes an articulating energy receiver which can move closer to or farther away from the lens depending on the longitudinal angle of incidence of the sunlight relative to the lens, to maintain the best focus of sunlight on the energy receiver. The prisms in the present lens are specified to provide acceptable optical performance in the presence of relatively large longitudinal solar incidence angles, relatively smaller lateral solar incidence angles, in combination with the articulating energy receiver. The new lens assembly can further be deployed and supported as a thin flexible stretched membrane with tension maintaining the lens in proper position on orbit.

  • Publication number: 20170142874
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for use in the manufacture of a display element. Some embodiments include a method for selective pick up of a subset of a plurality of electronic devices adhered to a handle layer. The method comprises modifying a level of adhesion between one or more electronic devices of the plurality of electronic devices adhered to the handle layer, such that the subset of the plurality of electronic devices has a level of adhesion to the handle layer that is less than a force applied by a pick up tool, PUT. This enables selective pick up of the subset of the plurality of electronic devices from the handle layer by the PUT.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for use in the manufacture of a display device including pixels. Each pixel includes a plurality of sub-pixels, each sub-pixel configured to provide light of a given wavelength. The method may include: performing, using a pick up tool (PUT), a first placement cycle comprising picking up first light emitting diode (LED) dies, and placing a first LED die on a substrate of the display device at a location corresponding to a sub-pixel the display device. The method further includes performing one or more subsequent placement cycles comprising picking up a second LED die, and placing the second LED die on the substrate of the display device at a second location corresponding to the sub-pixel of the display device. Multiple first and second LED dies may be picked and placed during each placement cycle to populate each pixel of the display device to provide redundancy of LED dies at each sub-pixel.
