  • Patent number: 9729621
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present invention for maintaining network data distribution are provided. Network data may be distributed in such as manner as to allow a network session to weather interrupted communications between host and clients without significant loss of data. Embodiments of the present invention provide for one or more clients to serve as backup host(s) for the network session. When the other clients transmit data to the host, they may also transmit the data to one or more backup hosts if there are any indications of interrupted communication.

  • Patent number: 9579636
Abstract: Novel materials having high surface area rendering them suitable for a variety of applications including, but not limited to: catalysts for methane reforming; ammonia synthesis; alcohol synthesis from syngas; hydrodesulfurization; electrocatalysis for hydrogen evolution reaction; and as corrosion-resistant supports for platinum in PEM fuel cells. In general the method comprises the formation of a high-surface area refractory metal-based material using a novel synthesis pathway that avoids the production of intermediate oxide. The method may include the in situ formation of a sacrificial support that can be removed using non-aggressive means, such as, for example, chemical etching with a mild acid or by altering reaction conditions.

  • Publication number: 20160246971
Abstract: A computer-implemented method is described. A first portion and a second portion of a message are received from a user via a user interface of a computer device. Each portion includes one or more letters. The first portion includes initials of a person. The method includes generating a virtual cryptic note. The virtual cryptic note includes the first portion arranged in a first orientation, and the second portion arranged in a second orientation that is rotated relative to the first orientation with the one or more letters of the second portion overlapping the initials of the first portion. The virtual cryptic note can be modified by changing an order of the first portion relative to the second portion or changing the orientation of at least one of the first portion and the second portion. The first portion and the second portion can be encrypted.

  • Publication number: 20150286941
Abstract: A fabric selection tool provides an automated procedure for recommending and/or selecting a fabric for a window treatment to be installed in a building. The recommendation may be made to optimize the performance of the window treatment in which the fabric may be installed. The recommended fabric may be selected based on performance metrics associated with each fabric in an environment. The fabrics may be ranked based upon the performance metrics of one or more of the fabrics. One or more of the fabrics, and/or their corresponding ranks, may be displayed to a user for selection. The recommended fabrics may be determined based on combinations of fabrics that provide performance metrics for various façades of the building. Using the ranking system provided by the fabric selection tool, the user may obtain a fabric sample and/or order one or more of the recommended fabrics.
