  • Publication number: 20070206247
Abstract: A portable digital media playback apparatus is disclosed. The device comes preloaded with a large number of digital media files for preview. After preview, the files are tagged with information that indicate that the user wishes to purchase the digital media file or purchase certain digital rights associated with the digital media file, such as for example, rental to play the media three times. When the portable device is synched back up with a library of digital media files available for purchase or rental, the files designated for purchase are downloaded to the portable device and files designated to be deleted are deleted from the portable device. In one embodiment, a user profile is created and includes a record of user events relating to the digital media files previewed or deleted or selected for purchase. The user profile is then provided to the content provider to compare it with the characteristics of additional digital media files available for preview.

  • Publication number: 20060096129
Abstract: An object of footwear for children which allows adults to visually determine whether the shoe proper fits the child and can be adjusted in its effective size when it is determined that the shoe has become too small. The article of footwear comprises a fitting system comprising: (1) a substantially transparent window disposed in a predetermined location in the vamp so that when a wearer who has a foot that properly fits in the article of footwear puts on the article of footwear, a portion of a toe of the wearer can be seen through the window, and (2) a sizing member attached to the upper, the sizing member being placed within the opening against the heel portion to create a first effective size of the article of footwear, the sizing member being removable to create a second effective size of the article of footwear. The present invention also provides a method of determining when to adjust the effective size of an article of footwear and adjusting the effective size of the article of footwear.

  • Publication number: 20050267819
Abstract: A system for on-line user-interactive multimedia based point-of-preview. The system provides for a network web site and accompanying software and hardware for allowing users to access the web site over a network such as the internet via a computer. The user is uniquely identified to the web site server through an identification name or number. The hardware associated with the web site includes storage of discrete increments of pre-selected portions of music products for user selection and preview. After user selection, a programmable data processor selects the particular pre-recorded music product from data storage and then transmits that chosen music product over the network to the user for preview. Subscriber selection and profile data (i.e. demographic information) can optionally be collected and stored to develop market research data.

  • Publication number: 20050114769
Abstract: A source code editor is used to develop multilanguage documents while providing the advanced editing functionality of secondary editors and without requiring the programmer to explicitly open and interface with the secondary editors. The multilanguage document is presented to the user in a primary application view of the primary editor. Code segments written in different languages are identified and sent to the appropriate secondary editors, which in turn create secondary documents that are transparent to the programmer. As edits are made to the primary application view of the document, the edits are replicated by the secondary editors behind the scene. Functionality that is enabled by the secondary editors, such as syntax coloring, auto-completion, and validation is identified by the primary editor and replicated in the primary application view, so as to appear as if the primary editor is inherently configured with the leveraged functionality of the secondary editors.
