  • Patent number: 9889725
Abstract: A simplified truck cap handle and lock assembly is provided. Unlike truck cap handle and lock assemblies known in the art, the assembly is comprised of a codeable lock that is disposed in a position that is not perpendicular to the glass access window of the cap. The lock of the present invention is rotated 90° from the perpendicular. Further, the lock is codeable because it is preferably keyed to match other locks and ignition key switch of the vehicle with which the assembly is used. The invention provides a unique locking structure having a number of components that form the assembly. The assembly is easy to use and easy to install in an aftermarket application. Further, the assembly can be easily converted to an electronic actuated version without any retooling of the component parts of the assembly. The assembly provides the user with tactile feedback as to its operation.

  • Publication number: 20170082253
Abstract: A luminaire configured for mounting to a grid ceiling system includes first and second portions. The first portion includes a first housing, one or more first mating elements, and a light engine coupled with the first housing that generates light from electrical power, and is oriented to emit the light away from the first housing. The second portion includes a second housing and one or more second mating elements. The second mating elements are adapted to couple with the first mating elements. At least one of the first portion and the second portion includes an electrical receptacle for receiving the electrical power for the light engine. When the first mating elements couple with the second mating elements, the first housing and the second housing together define a cavity for one or more members of the grid ceiling system.

  • Patent number: 9505392
Abstract: An air brake lock assembly helps to prevent air brake actuation knobs from being actuated. The air brake lock in accordance with the present invention is a theft-prevention device that mounts over the air brake knobs on the dash of a semi-truck cab. It is installed between the dash and the knobs and, when locked, the assembly prevents the knobs from being pushed in. If the air brake knobs cannot be pushed back in, the air brake will remain locked and the truck and trailer will remain immobile. In one embodiment of the present invention, the assembly includes a base and an enclosure for each brake knob. An air brake lock is disposed between the knobs such that the knobs can be selectively locked and unlocked. In one embodiment, the assembly is spring-loaded. In another embodiment, the assembly is not spring-loaded.

  • Publication number: 20160304134
Abstract: A tailgate collar locking device encloses the slotted mounting hub of the tailgate, together with the pivot point stub within the mounting hub, within a portion of the locking device. The locking device of the present invention comprises a lock housing, a lock cylinder and a shackle. To prevent the theft of certain models of tailgate that are used in the marketplace, the locking device and assembly of the present invention further comprises a tabbed washer or shim that inhibits twisting of the locking device and does not allow the tailgate to be removed in those tailgate models.

  • Publication number: 20080282755
Abstract: A codeable lock, operable by an authorized key, includes a housing defining a longitudinal axis, a lock cylinder positioned within the housing and selectively rotatable relative to the housing about the longitudinal axis, and a sidebar moveable between a locked position, in which at least a portion of the sidebar is engaged with the lock cylinder and the housing to prevent rotation of the lock cylinder relative to the housing, and an unlocked position, in which the sidebar is disengaged from at least one of the housing and the lock cylinder. The codeable lock also includes a codebar positioned within the lock cylinder. The codebar is moveable from an uncoded state to a coded state upon insertion of the authorized key into the lock cylinder and by securing the codebar to the sidebar. The codeable lock further includes a tumbler positioned within the lock cylinder and engaged with the codebar.
