  • Publication number: 20170086709
Abstract: A wearable sensor apparatus is disclosed that includes a flexible substrate adapted to be coupled with a skin surface of an expectant mother. A conductor is disposed on the flexible substrate. The conductor can include micron-scale invaginations. The conductor can be capable of repeatable variation in resistance when subject to a strain. Also disclosed is a system for monitoring the health of a fetus in utero that includes a wearable sensor apparatus. The wearable sensor apparatus is configured to output a signal responsive to an electrical input. The system includes a computing system with one or more hardware processors. The computing system is programmed to implement a signal processing module configured to access the output signal from the wearable strain gauge and generate an output indicative of health of the baby in utero.

  • Publication number: 20160354626
Abstract: A system for providing an automatic fire extinguishing system including a tank filled with an extinguishing agent with a targeting system with independently mounted targeting servos and targeting gimbal to position an emitter. A microcontroller provides control signals to the targeting servos and an actuation valve. A plurality of temperature sensors electrically connected to the microcontroller send temperature data to the microcontroller which calculates target angles and sends the target angle to the targeting gimbal. The emitter is positioned by the targeting servo positioning the targeting gimbal armatures to the target angles. The microcontroller compares sensor temperature data a predetermined temperature value and sends an open signal to the actuation valve when a sensor temperature data is greater than the predetermined temperature value. The extinguishing agent flows from the tank to the emitter, where it is discharged.

  • Patent number: 9339243
Abstract: A radiation treatment and imaging system for emitting a radiation treatment beam and X-ray imaging beams towards an object. The system includes an x-ray source and a collimator, first and second detectors, and a linear accelerator that delivers radiation beams to an object. The linear accelerator includes a radiation source positioned between the first and second detectors and emitting a therapy radiation beam in-line with the x-ray beams received by the first and second detectors. The system also includes a data processing device in communication with the first and second detectors. The data processing device receives imaging signals from the first and second detectors and reconstructs a three-dimensional tetrahedron beam computed tomography (TBCT) image from the received imaging signals. The system also includes a display in communication with the data processing device and for displaying the TBCT image.

  • Patent number: 8983024
Abstract: A tetrahedron beam computed tomography system including an x ray source array that sequentially emits a plurality of x ray beams at different positions along a scanning direction and a collimator that intercepts the plurality of x-ray beams so that a plurality of fan-shaped x-ray beams emanate from the collimator towards an object. The system includes a first detector receiving a first set of fan-shaped x ray beams after they pass through the object, the first detector generating a first imaging signal for each of the received first set of fan-shaped x-ray beams and a second detector receiving a second set of fan-shaped x ray beams after they pass through the object, the second detector generating a second imaging signal for each of the received second set of fan-shaped x-ray beams. Each detector and source pair form a tetrahedral volume. In other embodiments, the system may also have more than two detectors arrays and/or more than one source array.

  • Patent number: 8736582
Abstract: TDR (time domain reflection) technology may be used in optical domain or in electrical domain. For electrical TDR, single layer ITO glass may form a transmission line as a base TDR touch sensor. When the touch sensor is paired, the existing internal metal line of the display device may be reused as a TDR sensor and the ITO glass may be removed. When touched, the TDR profile is changed dynamically from baseline to the particular profile due to its dynamic impedance profile change across the display screen. Likewise, for optical TDR touch sensing, 2 dimensional optical slab waveguide is used to carry OTDR signal. When touched, the profile is changed due to this perturbation mainly by evanescent field changes on that particular position.
