  • Publication number: 20040261895
Abstract: A liquid crystal dispensing system includes a container, a discharge pump, a nozzle, and a control unit. The discharge pump draws in and discharges liquid crystal that is contained in the container. The nozzle dispenses the liquid crystal discharged from the discharge pump onto a substrate. The control unit determines a dispensing amount of liquid crystal based on a spacer height formed at the substrate and to control the discharge pump in order to dispense the determined amount of liquid crystal onto the substrate.

Abstract: A liquid crystal dispensing apparatus dispenses liquid crystal onto a substrate. The liquid crystal dispensing apparatus includes a frame, a table, at least one liquid crystal discharge device, and a liquid crystal amount inspecting portion. The table is installed on the frame to have the substrate to be mounted thereon. The liquid crystal discharge device adjustably discharges an amount of liquid crystal, and the liquid crystal amount inspecting portion inspects a liquid crystal dispensing amount by comparing an actual amount of liquid crystal discharged from the liquid crystal discharge device with a preset liquid crystal amount. The liquid crystal discharge device includes a piston to perform ascending motions to draw in the liquid crystal and descending motions to discharge the liquid crystal with an angle of at least a portion of the liquid crystal discharge device determining a magnitude of the ascending/descending motion to control an amount of liquid crystal discharged.

  • Patent number: 6801273
Abstract: A liquid crystal injecting/sealing apparatus for injecting a liquid crystal into a liquid crystal display panel and sealing it. In the apparatus, an elevator is installed at the end of the injecting apparatus to convey the liquid crystal display panel from the injecting apparatus into the sealing apparatus. A residual liquid crystal remover removes a contaminated liquid crystal at the periphery of the liquid crystal injection hole. A sealer seals the liquid crystal injection hole with a sealant. An ultraviolet irradiating unit hardens the sealant.

  • Publication number: 20040142519
Abstract: In a manufacturing method of a semiconductor device, before totally performing an annealing process for forming a silicide, reinforcing ions are implanted in a target of a thin metal layer formed on a source/drain so that the reinforcing ions naturally fill-in vacancy sites created in the substrate by the silicon atoms consumed during the silicide formation. When a substantial annealing process is subsequently performed, even though many silicon atoms move toward the metal atoms, the source/drain side semiconductor substrate has sufficient silicon atoms to prevent a shortage of the silicon atoms in the source/drain areas of the semiconductor substrate, and, thus, preventing the generation of defects such as voids, cracks and silicon spikes, etc., and improving the quality of the finished semiconductor device.
