Abstract: A tester apparatus capable of obtaining a forming limit diagram pertaining to a sample having a high degree of precision includes a fixing jig and a mobile jig installed at an upper side of the fixing jig so as to enable a vertical movement. The mobile jig may be configured to fix the sample in cooperation with the fixing jig, and a driving apparatus disposed at a lower side of the fixing jig may be configured to drive the vertical movement of the mobile jig. An interlocking apparatus provided in between the mobile jig and the driving apparatus may be configured to deliver a driving force of the driving apparatus to the mobile jig.

The particular presentation of captured data can be provided based on entity detection, extraction, and knowledge base resolution and retrieval. Methods, systems, and services are provided that identify a primary entity of an item input to a notebook application and create an entity object for the primary entity of the item at least from one or more structured representations for content associated with the item. A template for presenting the entity object can be determined according to the primary entity, where the template is selected from a set of templates corresponding to different primary entities such that an arrangement and presentation for one primary entity is different than that of another primary entity.

Abstract: A uniform resource locator (URL) link inserted into a note or document can be enhanced through a capture service for curation and collaboration applications, including notebook applications. A local notebook application can call the capture service by sending a request for a webpage representation with a URL indicated for insertion into the note. The local notebook application can receive the representation of the content referenced by the URL in a format customized for the local client. The representation can be displayed as part of a preview window and user interface for inserting a clipping, URL or other content into a note. The capture service can take the URL sent by the local application and take a screenshot of a separately rendered webpage referenced by the URL.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving data in a filter bank based multicarrier communication system are provided. The method includes receiving a plurality of data blocks and performing an Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) operation on the plurality of data blocks, multiplying the plurality of data blocks on which IFFT has been performed and time axis filter coefficients, and transmitting a result obtained by adding the plurality of multiplied data blocks as a multi carrier signal.

The mobile terminal includes a terminal body configured to house a mobile communication module to engage in the wireless communication, a touch input device disposed in the terminal body, the touch input device including a touch detection area configured to recognize an external contact, a vibrator coupled to the terminal body and is configured to allow tactile detection by a user, and a controller to control the touch input device and the vibrator, wherein the controller causes the vibrator to vibrate in response to detecting the external contact on the touch detection area and other mobile terminal functions that require a tactile alert.

Abstract: Provided is a solid dispersion comprising vitamin D or a derivative thereof and a cyclodextrin; a complex formulation for the prevention or treatment of osteophorosis, which includes the solid dispersion and a bisphosphonate; and a method for preparing said complex formulation. The complex formulation can maintain a constant therapeutic level of vitamin D or a derivative thereof through its improved drug stability, while enhancing the patient compliance by minimizing inconvenience and adverse effects when administered to patients.

Abstract: This invention is a method for recovering viscous hydrocarbonaceous fluids from a subterranean formation containing one or more vertically extensive, narrow, high permeability conduits. At least one injection well communicates with at least one production well via said conduits. Steam is injected into said injection well until the water-oil ratio becomes excessive at the production well. The production well is then shut in until the formation is pressurized. Stem injection is then stopped and the production well is opened for production by pressure depletion. This cycle is repeated until oil recovery becomes uneconomical.

Abstract: Method for separating a mixture of bituminous coal and a lower rank coal such as subbituminous, lignite, and mixtures thereof, comprising contacting the coal mixture with an effective amount of an aqueous chemical comminuting solution for a sufficient time to selectively comminute a substantial portion of one of the ranks of coal in the mixture. Thereafter, the comminuted coal and noncomminuted coal of different rank is separated from the chemical comminuting solution. The smaller comminuted coal particles of one rank are then separated from the larger noncomminuted coal of the other rank by screening. Substantially anhydrous methanol or an aqueous methanol solution is used to selectively comminute the bituminous rank coal whereas an aqueous alkaline solution, preferably aqueous sodium hydroxide, is used to selectively comminute the lower rank coal.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for minimizing the entry of water into a mined cavity or underground formation which has thereabove a semi-permeable layer of a shaly material or rock directly below a source layer of water-saturated sand. By means of a borehole, a fluid such as air or oil is injected into a semi-permeable layer to displace water from it. The injected fluid acts as a barrier to reduce the downward leakage of water into the cavity.

Abstract: This invention is a process for comminuting run-of-mine crushed coal by contacting the coal with an aqueous methanol solution for a time sufficient to comminute a substantial portion of the coal to a predetermined particle size. Another aspect of this invention is a process for slurry mining coal which comprises contacting the coal in-situ with an aqueous methanol solution for a time sufficient to comminute a portion of the coal and to form a slurry, and then conveying the slurry to a receiving vessel where the comminuted coal is recovered. Still another aspect of this invention, is to transport the comminuted coal having a desired particle size in slurry form using an aqueous methanol solution as the slurry medium wherein there is further comminution of the coal to improve its burning characteristics.

Abstract: This invention is a comminution process for treating coal with a drying gas to form fractures which weaken the structure of the coal and make it easier to disintegrate mechanically, chemically or by fluid force. Another aspect of this invention is a process for treating an underground formation of coal with a dry gas for a time sufficient to form cracks and fractures in a portion of the formation in order to increase the permeability of the coal formation to the flow of fluids therethrough. Processes for in-situ combustion of the coal formation are therefore more efficient since the coal formation is more permeable to the flow of gas therethrough.
