  • Publication number: 20240044898
Abstract: The present invention describes an integrated apparatus that enables identification of invasive tumor cells directly from a specimen. The methods using the apparatus can be used to prognose or predict the survivability of the cancer in a subject and the risk of recurrence of the cancer in the subject after treatment. The methods disclosed herein can be used to determine which chemotherapeutic or other therapies most strongly inhibit the tumor cells invasiveness as a form of personalized therapy.

  • Publication number: 20230194550
Abstract: The effect of laser stimulation, e.g., R:GEN, of the RPE and its impact on MMPs and RAAS pathways are used to guide patient therapies. Certain biomarkers, namely MMPs, TIMPs, and components associated with RAAS, are effective indicators of healing response levels generated by the patients undergoing the therapy. An eye disease is diagnosed in a patient and a first biomarker sample is obtained from a biomatrix, e.g., patient's blood in containers with protease inhibitors. An initial subthreshold laser treatment is then performed on the eye. By monitoring the presence, amount, and relative levels of one or more of the above biomarkers as the patient heals, it is determined when the patient's body has sufficiently responded to the previous treatment, such that retreatment may be appropriate. The present disclosure demonstrates effective treatment of eye diseases, e.g., dry age-related macular degeneration, which utilize laser treatment alone or in combination with other treatments.

  • Publication number: 20220062432
Abstract: The present invention provides compositions comprising Verteporfin and other anticancer compounds linked to a hydrophilic peptide through a degradable linker molecule to allow the anticancer compounds to penetrate tissues via in situ administration. The compounds of the present invention are useful for sensitizing tumor cells to radiotherapy, preventing recurrence of tumors after surgical resection and for treating remaining unremoved cancer cells at the site of the tumor.

  • Patent number: 10689145
Abstract: A corrugated paperboard wraparound blank for forming a shipping case is provided, including five wall panels and four sets of end flaps connected via fold lines, at least two sets of stacking tabs, and at least two corresponding sets of receiving slots for receiving the stacking tabs. The wraparound blank is formed of a heavier material than a conventional blank, which would typically be difficult for automatic packaging equipment to form into a case, but the fold lines are creased with optional perforations or scoring. An optional modification aiding folding is presented for conventional case packers. The heavier fiberboard better supports and protects an inner product, such as cartons or paper bottles of liquids and reduces damage to the cap and neck. The heavier material in combination with the stacking tabs allows an increase in stacking height, thereby reducing transportation costs.
