  • Patent number: 9317581
Abstract: An object may be categorized upon distribution of the object from a sender system to a recipient system. The object may be assigned to at least one recipient category in a recipient category hierarchy according to a first predefined mapping from a sender category hierarchy to the recipient category hierarchy. The object is initially assigned to a sender category in the sender category hierarchy. There is applied to the object a second predefined mapping from the recipient category hierarchy to the sender category hierarchy. It is determined whether the first and second predefined mappings converge. If the first and second predefined mappings do not converge, there may be executed a rule-based reassignment algorithm to make the first and second predefined mappings converge.

  • Publication number: 20140374303
Abstract: A corrugated paperboard wraparound blank for forming a shipping case is provided, including five wall panels and four sets of end flaps connected via fold lines, at least two sets of stacking tabs, and at least two corresponding sets of receiving slots for receiving the stacking tabs. The wraparound blank is formed of a heavier material than a conventional blank, which would typically be difficult for automatic packaging equipment to form into a case, but the fold lines are creased with optional perforations or scoring. An optional modification aiding folding is presented for conventional case packers. The heavier fiberboard better supports and protects an inner product, such as cartons or paper bottles of liquids and reduces damage to the cap and neck. The heavier material in combination with the stacking tabs allows an increase in stacking height, thereby reducing transportation costs.

  • Patent number: 8438264
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for monitoring a communication network are disclosed. A disclosed method of monitoring a communication network periodically collects data from a plurality of network elements within the communication network. The disclosed method analyzes the collected data in accordance with a rule that corresponds to a characteristic of performance or capacity of the plurality of network elements to form performance or capacity data representative of a user experience of the communication network. The disclosed method then presents the performance or capacity data via a web browser using a plurality of view levels and types.

  • Patent number: 8320045
Abstract: A light collection and concentration system includes a primary light concentrator, a light transport structure, and a light directing structure optically associated with the primary light concentrator. The system may include an optional secondary light concentrator. Each unit-system includes a plurality of the primary light concentrators and a respective plurality of the light directing structures, and only a single light transport structure. A photo-voltaic (PV) cell may advantageously be associated with each unit-system. Solar radiation is focused by the primary concentrators onto respective light directing structures incorporated in a low aspect ratio, sheet-type waveguide light transport structure. Each respective light directing structure intercepts the focused light and deflects it transversely to travel along the length of the light transport structure primarily via total internal reflection (TIR) towards an exit-end of the light transport structure, where it can be input to the PV cell.

  • Patent number: 7934012
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and systems for automatic translation code generation. The client transmits a data object message comprising the current data model of the client to the server. The server automatically generates a new translation code based on the current data model of the client. The newly generated translation code may then be used to convert the data in the server into a data format required by the client. If the current data model of the client changes, the translation code on the server may be automatically adapted according to the changed data format and data on the server is converted with the adapted translation code.

  • Patent number: 6523172
Abstract: A parser-translator technology allows a user to specify complex test and/or transformation statements in a high-level user language, to ensure that such test and/or transformation statements are well-formed in accordance with a grammar defining legal statements in the user language, and to translate statements defined by the user into logically and syntactically correct directives for performing the desired data transformations or operations. Using the parser-translator technology, a user can focus on the semantics of the desired operations and need not be concerned with the proper syntax of a language for a particular system. Instead, grammars (i.e., data) define the behavior of a parser-translator implementation by encoding the universe of statements (e.g., legal test and/or transformation statements) and by encoding translations appropriate to a particular data processing application (e.g., a data conversion program, etc.).
