  • Patent number: 12264930
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for determining the orientation of a device based on visible and/or non-visible orientation cues. The orientation cues may be a geographically located objects, such as a park, body of water, monument, building, landmark, etc. The orientation cues may be visible or non-visible with respect to the location of the device. The device may use one or more image sensors to detect the visible orientation cues. Non-visible orientation cues may be associated with map data. Using the location of the orientation cue and the distance of the orientation cue to the device, the orientation of the device may be determined. The device may then provide an output indicating the orientation of the device.

  • Publication number: 20240320855
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods that makes use of one or more image sensors of a device to provide users with information relating to nearby points of interest. The image sensors may be used to detect features and/or objects in the field of view of the image sensors. Pose data, including a location and orientation of the device is then determined based on the one or more detected features and/or objects. A plurality of points of interest that are within a geographical area that is dependent on the pose data are then determined. The determination may, for instance, be made by querying a mapping database for points of interest that are known to be located within a particular distance of the location of the user. The device then provides information to the user indicating one or more of the plurality of points of interest.

  • Publication number: 20240238979
Abstract: A method for controlling a telerobotic robot using an input device which has a movable actuator includes repeatedly: —commanding a target pose of a reference of the telerobotic robot, said reference being fixed to the robot, on the basis of a detected position of the actuator; and —commanding a target force of the actuator; wherein a contact operating mode is carried out if a contact is ascertained between the reference fixed to the robot and an obstacle in a contact direction, and a non-contact operating mode is carried out after said contact is no longer ascertained and/or before said contact is ascertained. In the contact operating mode, the target force has a contact force component of a virtual spring, said contact force component simulating a contact between the reference fixed to the robot and an obstacle, and the contact force component is omitted in the non-contact operating mode.
