  • Publication number: 20220116941
Abstract: The application relates to ultra-low latency data transmission in Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). An apparatus used in a non-Access Point Station (non-AP STA), includes processor circuitry configured to cause the non-AP STA to, when there is urgent data that must be transmitted in uplink without waiting for a scheduled slot: generate a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) from the urgent data; and transmit the PDU on a resource unit pre-assigned for urgent transmission, wherein the resource unit is multiplexed for uplink transmission from multiple non-AP STAs.

  • Publication number: 20220039166
Abstract: A station may receive a frame transmitted to a plurality of STAs. The frame may indicate a first frequency resource allocated for the STA and a second frequency resource allocated for another STA of the plurality of STAs. The STA may transmit a data frame using the first frequency resource and receive an acknowledgement frame that acknowledges receipt of the data frame. The STA may receive a MU RTS frame transmitted to the plurality of STAs and may subsequently transmit a CTS frame in response to receipt of the MU RTS frame. The RTS/CTS transmissions may occur prior to transmission of the data frame.

  • Patent number: 11229052
Abstract: Methods and systems herein provide better downlink (DL) data throughput for cell-edge stations (CE STAs). The systems enable protection from a third-party collision during a wideband DL data transmission to the cell edge STA, when the wideband control frame, such as clear-to-send (CTS) or acknowledge (ACK), transmission from a cell edge STA cannot reach the AP. This process can be achieved by designing a new wideband control frame comprising: a legacy preamble sent over the primary 20 MHz channel that can be decoded by the legacy STAs, a new preamble sent over the primary 20 MHz channel that can be used to identify the new wideband control frame (this new preamble has the total signal bandwidth information for the rest of the packet following the new preamble); and duplicate legacy control packets set over the total bandwidth indicated in the new preamble (the legacy control packets can be decoded by the legacy STAs).

  • Publication number: 20220007236
Abstract: A Quality-of-Service (QoS) Management AP is configured to support QoS Management features and to perform a QoS Management Protocol. The AP decodes an Enhanced Add Traffic Stream (E-ADDTS) Request QoS Action Frame (E-ADDTS Req) received from a station (STA) to initiate QoS setup for a traffic stream. The STA may be a QoS Management STA configured to support the QoS Management features and perform the QoS Management protocol. The AP may encode, for transmission to the STA in response to the E-ADDTS Req, an E-ADDTS Response QoS Action Frame (E-ADDTS Resp) which includes a status code to indicate whether the QoS setup has been accepted. When the QoS setup is accepted, the E-ADDTS Resp includes a QoS setup ID within a QoS setup ID field in the E-ADDTS Resp that uniquely identifies the QoS setup for the traffic stream.

  • Publication number: 20200305103
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices related to an EHT multi-AP group are described. The coordinated APs of the EHT group are synchronized to the coordinator AP using a periodic or non-periodic frame. Each coordinated AP then synchronizes STAs associated with the coordinated AP. In response to an MPDU, either triggered by a trigger frame from the coordinator AP or initiated by the STA, an ACK frame or NDP response is sent by each AP receiving the MPDU. The response to the MPDU is dependent on whether frame aggregation is used, as well as whether the trigger frame triggers transmission of MPDUs from multiple STAs.

  • Publication number: 20200267636
Abstract: An access point (AP) may be configured by processing circuitry to operate as a coordinator AP for performing BSS channel level coordination. The coordinator AP is configured to assign non-overlapping channels to one or more coordinated APs of overlapping BSSs to schedule time-sensitive traffic to help ensure bounded latency, jitter and reliability per BSS. In some embodiments, the AP may be configured for performing transmission level coordination and may initiate a coordinated transmission opportunity (TXOP) for resource assignment to control contention access among managed BSSs. To perform the BSS channel level coordination, the coordinator AP is configured to encode a multi-AP trigger frame (M-TF) to initiate the coordinated TXOP. The M-TF may be encoded to include a time-sensitive operation IE indicating how each STA is to access the channel within the coordinated TXOP.
