  • Patent number: 10551167
Abstract: In a method and a device for position detection of a material web (2), the position of the material web (2) is determined on the basis of a marking (13) provided thereon. This marking (13) is detected by a first sensor (4), which emits a position signal (33) proportional to the position of the marking (13). The material web (2) is furthermore detected by a second sensor (5), which emits a signal proportional to the velocity of the material web (2) transversely to the movement direction (8). An output signal (7), which represents position-proportional values of the material web (2) even when the position signal (33) fails, is then calculated from the velocity signal (54) and the position signal (33).

  • Patent number: 9743008
Abstract: A sensor (1) serves for capturing a moving material web (2). It has at least one light source (4) and at least one light detector (10). At least one polarization element (15) is provided between the two, which polarization element influences polarization properties of the light transmitted by the polarization element (15) as a function of an electric field. Markings such as for example metal strips (13) in the material web (2) can thus be captured in the light detector (10) without problem.

  • Publication number: 20170099022
Abstract: An apparatus (1) consists of an AC motor (2), a controller (5) and a power driver (6). In this case, the controller (5) and the power driver (6) are supplied with electric power firstly by an operating voltage (9) and secondly by a generator voltage (10) from the AC motor (2). When the operating voltage (9) is absent but the generator voltage (10) is present, the magnetization of the AC motor (2) is influenced such that the generator voltage (10) is kept between two limit values in order firstly to generate sufficient power for the operation of the controller (5) and of the power driver (6) and secondly to observe permitted voltage limits for the power driver (6).

  • Patent number: 9420191
Abstract: A sensor (1) serves for capturing the moving material web (2). It has light sources (4, 4?) and at least one light detector (10). The light sources (4, 4?) generate emission light (5) having different polarization. The polarization state of the emitted light can be influenced by selecting or mixing the emission light (5) of the light sources (4, 4?). Markings such as for example metal strips (13) in the material web (2) can thus be captured with the light detector (10) without problem.

  • Patent number: 7784975
Abstract: An apparatus (1) serves for linear illumination of a moving product web (6), the apparatus (1) having at least one light source (4) emitting light. In order to achieve high luminance in a linear subregion of the product web (6), at least a portion of the light emitted by the light source (4) is reflected towards the product web (6) by at least one tubular reflector (5). The tubular reflector (5) in this case has at least one light exit slit (7) which is assigned to the product web (6). Moreover, the tubular reflector has at least one observation slit (8) which lies opposite the light exit slit (7). The illuminated product web (6) can be observed through this observation slit (8) by means of a line camera (2).

  • Patent number: 7560718
Abstract: In the case of a method for sensing a marking (2) of a running web of material (3), the web of material is optically scanned by an image recording device (6). This generates in successive measuring cycles image signals which are fed to an image processing device (7). This image processing device (7) determines the positional values of the marking (2) of the web of material (3). A validity signal is generated from these positional values by applying a position-dependent weighting function and is output. This validity signal indicates whether the currently determined positional value is valid.

  • Publication number: 20090161001
Abstract: A camera (1) comprises photoelectric converters (6), which convert incident light with transfer functions into electrical signals. In order to be able to use this camera (1) also for measuring purposes, the camera (1) comprises at least one diffuse light source (10), which can apply this light on least a part of the photoelectric converters (6). The photoelectric converters (6) have an active connection with a data processor (12) which calculates at least one characteristic property of the transfer function of the photoelectric converters (6) obtained from the electrical signals. In this manner, differences in the transfer functions can be compensated and the electrical signals can thus be used for measuring purposes.

  • Patent number: 7151715
Abstract: A method and an apparatus (1) are used to detect the position of the edge (2) of a moving product web (3). The apparatus (1) has piezoelectric elements (5), which firstly output ultrasonic pulses (10) and secondly pick them up and convert them into an electrical signal. The product web (3) is arranged between the piezoelectric elements (5) and a reflector (11) for this purpose. If the product web (3) is located in the measurement range of the piezoelectric element (5), it attenuates the ultrasonic pulses as a result of reflection or absorption during the double passage of the latter. The position of the product web edge (2) is calculated from this attenuation.
