  • Patent number: 6611730
Abstract: A device for designing knit products to be manufactured on a knitting machine includes at least one storage device for storing data required for the production of the knit products on the knitting machine; at least one display device for displaying design images for the knit products; and at least one input device for altering the design images. Data to be exchanged between the storage, input and display devices is processed to generate at least one knit image presentation and at least one corresponding thread course presentation for display as the design images on the display device, and one of the presentations is simultaneously correspondingly altered as the other is being altered by using the input device.

  • Patent number: 6310159
Abstract: The present invention refers to a paper surface sizing composition comprising a copolymer having: a) structural units derived from ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbons; structural units derived from monomers selected from esters of ethylenically unsaturated mono-carboxylic acids, half-esters of ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids, allylethers and vinylethers and mixtures thereof; optionally c) structural units derived from ethylenically unsaturated monomers selected from monocarboxylic acids as well as salts and amides thereof, dicarboxylic acids as well as salts, amides and half-amides thereof, and cyclic anhydrides and imides of dicarboxylic acids and mixtures thereof; and optionally d) structural units derived from alkyl or amino-substituted alkyl acrylates or methacrylates with the proviso, that if no structural units c) are present, the structural units b) are derived from monomers selected from half esters of ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids.

  • Patent number: 5764541
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measurement signal compensation comprises providing an analog-to-digital converter that includes a dual slope integrator. A microprocessor controls the reference voltage applied to the integrator. An amplifier having a switchable gain, controls the amplification of the input signal to the integrator during the various phases of integration. An off-set compensation value is stored in a memory device for providing off-set compensation by charging a capacitor connected to the integrator. A full-scale rough adjust value is also stored on the memory device and is used as a specific reference to produce a reference voltage that is, in turn, used in the integrator during the negative slope phase. During the positive slope phase, the integration time is controlled by means of full-scale fine adjust values. The temperature dependent full-scale fine adjust values are produced from the preprogrammed values in memory by using interpolation techniques.

  • Patent number: 5482634
Abstract: In a process for purifying an aqueous liquid reaction and/or washing medium containing i) hot water-insoluble cellulose ethers and ii) hot water-soluble cellulose ethers and/or macromolecular cellulose ether by-products, in a purification step a) the aqueous medium has a temperature above the gel point of the hot water-insoluble cellulose ether and gelled cellulose ether is separated from the aqueous medium by means of a solid-bowl centrifuge or a plate separator and in a purification step b) the remaining aqueous liquor is treated by ultrafiltration at a concentration ratio of at least 40.
