  • Patent number: 7629621
Abstract: The light-radiating semiconductor component has a radiation-emitting semiconductor body and a luminescence conversion element. The semiconductor body emits radiation in the ultraviolet, blue and/or green spectral region and the luminescence conversion element converts a portion of the radiation into radiation of a longer wavelength. This makes it possible to produce light-emitting diodes which radiate polychromatic light, in particular white light, with only a single light-emitting semiconductor body. A particularly preferred luminescence conversion dye is YAG:Ce.

  • Patent number: 7613808
Abstract: A system and method for enhancing event correlation with exploitation of external data is presented. A correlation engine receives events and selects a correlation rule that corresponds to the events. The correlation rule includes an event selection, a trigger condition, and a correlation conclusion. The correlation engine uses the event selection to access external data and select events based upon the external data. In turn, the correlation engine monitors the selected events and checks whether they meet the correlation rule's trigger condition. When the events meet the correlation rule's trigger condition, the correlation engine performs an action based upon the correlation rule's correlation condition.

  • Patent number: 7529654
Abstract: A system and procedure for controlling and monitoring programs in a computer network system. An important advantage of the present invention is that a user interface for controlling and monitoring the programs in the computer network system remains unchanged when compared to the user interface of single computers. The computer network simulates a single computer. The system administrator controls and monitors the programs in the computer network system as in a single computer. The user interface is independent of the computer, i.e. the system administrator only needs to call one computer in the computer network system. The selection of the computer in the computer network system is carried out by automatic addressing. This computer is responsible for centralized control and monitoring in the whole computer network. The selection is made dynamically, i.e. other computers or several computers at the same time can take over the these central functions (dynamic centralization).

  • Patent number: 7501028
Abstract: The invention relates to non-grain oriented magnetic steel sheets which can be produced as final annealed and as a non-final annealed types in such a way that they have improved magnetic polarisation and reduced magnetic reversal losses compared with the previously achieved values. This is achieved in that a suitably composed steel, during its cooling starting from a maximum initial temperature of 1,300° C., passes through a temperature range with substantially complete exclusion of a purely austenitic structure (? phase), in which range it comprises an austenite/ferrite dual phase multi-structure (?, ? multi-phases), so the magnetic steel sheet, after hot rolling, etching, cold rolling and annealing of the hot strip obtained after hot rolling, has a magnetic polarisation J2500?1.74 T, measured in the longitudinal direction of the strip or sheet and at a magnetic field strength of 2,500 A/m and a value P1.5(50) of the magnetic losses of <4.5 W/kg, measured in the longitudinal direction of the strip at J=1.

  • Patent number: 7490347
Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, a hierarchy of security domains and a method for granting a user access to the security domains are provided. The hierarchy of security domains includes multiple security levels and relationships between particular security domains. When a user is authenticated and/or authorized for access to a first security domain, the user is tagged as having been granted access to that security domain. If the user attempts to access a related security domain with a lower security level, the user is granted access without having to be re-authenticated and/or re-authorized. If the user attempts to access a related security domain with a higher security level, the user must be re-authenticated and/or re-authorized be access is granted to the security domain with the higher security level.

  • Patent number: 7451201
Abstract: An autonomic computing system and method determine policy definitions (404) and a set of available actions (410); monitor resources distributed within the system; determine if the system is at a desired end state; and modify resource states by sending instructions for the resources to perform available actions. The policy definitions (404) specify: start order between resources, prioritization between resources, conditional activation of policies, desired end state of resources, and location limitation of resources. The system and method receive status information from available resources, and monitor and modify the system until it reaches the desired end state. The policy definitions (404) can be determined by specifying a user-defined system end state and resource relationships. The policy definitions (404) can further harvest implicit relationships between resources, via self-discovery, and underlying relationships among resources.
