  • Patent number: 10240288
Abstract: The invention relates to methods of producing microfibrillated cellulose (MFC). According to the invention a fibrous pulp suspension is fibrillated mechanically at a consistency of less than 12.5%, dewatered to raise the consistency of the fibrillated suspension to at least 12.5%, and then subjected in the dewatered condition to further fibrillation. Alternatively an initially fibrillated fibrous pulp suspension may be dewatered and fibrillated in the dewatered condition, after which these dewatering and fibrillating steps are repeated one or more times so that pulp consistency is increased for each fibrillation step. The goals of raising the consistency between subsequent fibrillations are energy saving and an increased aspect ratio in MFC. The invention even comprises uses of the MFC product, e.g. as an additive for papermaking furnish or injection molded plastic composites.

  • Patent number: 6138672
Abstract: An arrangement in an anesthesia vaporizer comprising a liquid container including a vapor generator; a filling device; and conduits for supplying anesthetic from a transport and storage container to the liquid container and/or for removing anesthetic from the liquid container, and for conveying an amount of replenishment gas corresponding to the amount of anesthetic liquid from the liquid container to the transport and storage container upon filling the container and/or inversely upon emptying. For improved operating safety, the filling device is provided with a closing means, adapted to close a filling conduit which opens to the inside of the liquid container and a replenishment gas conduit between the liquid container and the transport and storage container through an overpressure generated in the transport and storage container, and thus prevent anesthetic liquid from flowing to the liquid container.

  • Patent number: 5904188
Abstract: An arrangement for preventing overfill of an anaesthetic liquid container of a vaporizer resulting from inclination, comprising a bent intermediate container for guiding anaesthetic liquid to the anaesthetic liquid container for vaporization and for removing a volume of gas equivalent to the filling of anaesthetic liquid from the anaesthetic liquid container. The intermediate container is arranged to form a common conduit for the anaesthetic liquid and the gas removed from the container, and to combine the liquid flow outlet level and the gas flow outlet level in such a way that the anaesthetic liquid is allowed to flow into the anaesthetic liquid container only when the liquid flow outlet level is below the gas flow outlet level. The bent intermediate container may be located interiorly of, or exterior to, the anaesthetic liquid container.
