    Abstract: A protective cover for a data storage disc such as a compact disc (CD) includes a disc which has a central retainer for engaging the hole in the data storage disc. The protective cover may placed on both the data storage side and the opposite side of the data storage disc. In one embodiment the retainer consists of a plurality of upstanding members disposed on one side of the protective cover, and a corresponding plurality of cavities disposed on the other side of the protective cover. The cavities of one protective cover receive the upstanding members of another protective cover so that a plurality of protective covers may be stacked.

The document feeding apparatus includes an intermittent gear set, a first roller, a second roller, and a driving device. The intermittent gear set includes a gear, a shaft, a one-way spring clutch, an arcuate groove, and a pin. The intermittent gear set selectively drives the first roller to rotate so that the first roller conveys the document selectively. The present invention keeps in separation of the document from a next feed-in document and prevents the documents from overlapping.

The present invention further includes a one-way gear train fixed to the drive shaft and being driven selectively by the drive shaft; a paper-stopping plate connected with a paper-stopping arm; a pick-up roller fixed to and rotatable with a pick-up shaft; a strip roller fixed to and rotatable with a strip shaft; and a gear train transferring the power from the one-way drive gear set to the pick-up roller and the strip roller. The relative operational relationship between the pick-up arm and the paper-stopping arm is coordinated by the cam set.

The mechanism includes a paper dividing plate, a roller for picking the sheets, wherein a channel is formed between the paper dividing plate and the roller, and the sheets are driven by friction between the roller and the sheets to pass through the channel, and a controller having a first end engaged with the paper dividing plate and a second end as a fulcrum for the paper dividing plate, wherein when an unbalanced force from the roller is applied on the paper dividing plate, the paper dividing plate pivots on the fulcrum to adjust the unbalanced force.

    Abstract: The present invention is related to an image scanner including a housing; an optical device installed in the housing for performing photoelectric conversion of an image of a scanned object in response to a scanning light signal; a scan-monitoring device arranged on a surface of the housing for indicating a scanning state of the image scanner in response to an indicating light signal; and a light source installed in the housing for emitting light when the image scanner is powered, with a first portion of the light provided to the optical device as the scanning light signal and a second portion of the light provided to the scan-monitoring device as the indicating light signal. The scan-monitoring device can be easily provided, and owing to the omission of the LED compared to the conventional image scanner, the present invention is more cost-effective.
