Patent number: 7727326Abstract: Concrete and mortar composites can be made with two or more sizes of fibers therein. The different sized fibers can be used to adjust the toughness and reliability of the composite material. The different sized fibers can also be used to increase the deflection of concrete or mortar compositions. The variable length of fibers provide for smaller fibers to exist in corners for more strength in smaller spaces. Different mixes of sizes of fibers can also adjust the stiffness of a concrete or mortar composite material. The fibers can be made from a variety of materials, lengths, shapes, aspect ratios or diameters. The fibers can make up variable portions of the composition. Mixing different aspect ratios of fibers together can be used to prevent clumping or balling of the fibers. Mixing of different modulus of elasticity fibers in different ratios can add to the toughness and strength of the composite.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2004Date of Patent: June 1, 2010Inventors: Julian P. Patent number: 7581655Abstract: A pullbox assembly for use in wiring having an upwardly tapered cylindrical main body having a larger diameter base than top for preventing upward movement of the pullbox when installed in the ground due to frost or soil conditions. The taper of the pullbox allows fill to be placed all around the pullbox easily. The pullbox may have a base with apertures, or a ledge at the base's rim, for allowing fill to exit when lifting the pullbox to a desired height in a hole. The fill exiting the base of the pullbox forms a smooth, even base for the pullbox when the pullbox is rotated in the hole. The apertures in the base also act as drainholes for letting water in and out and preventing groundwater from lifting the pullbox after installation. A strong lightweight plastic cover can be used to cover the pullbox for street traffic use.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2007Date of Patent: September 1, 2009Inventor: Julian P. Trangsrud

Patent number: 7361834Abstract: A lightweight plastic cover for an electric handhole or pullbox having a plurality of vertical channels in a circular array at a radius about halfway from the center to the circumference. The channels allow the cover to bend when a large weight is applied and to rebound when the weight is removed. The cover may also have a second circle of vertical channels for strength nearer the center and horizontal channels crossing the center for added strength. The cover has a metal plate attached in the center for finding the cover with a metal detector and may also have a GPS device for locating it. The electric handhole or pullbox may have an open bottom portion with a ledge around the circumference for helping to set and maintain the electric handhole or pullbox at a desired depth. The cover may have extendable handles for ease of holding.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2007Date of Patent: April 22, 2008Assignee: JDT Concepts, LLCInventors: Julian P. Trangsrud, David E. Erickson
