Patent number: 6910309Abstract: A cage spacer for spacing reinforcing rods or welded fabric a specified distance from mold walls for poring concrete during construction projects. The cage spacer comprises two intersection bodies oriented perpendicular to each other and preferable with one body having a base higher than the other. A pair of pads on opposite ends of a first body base for stabilizing the body on the rebar. A pair of rebar engaging clips on opposite ends of the second body base for snapping onto and gripping a perpendicularly intersecting rebar such that the rebar is held securely in the clips. The cage spacer attaches over the intersection of a pair of rebars. At least one apex of the bodies engages a mold wall to keep the mold wall a specified distance from the rebars while concrete is being poured in the mold.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2003Date of Patent: June 28, 2005Inventor: Julian P. Patent number: 6899310Abstract: A cage spacer for spacing reinforcing rods or welded fabric a specified distance from mold walls for poring concrete during construction projects. The cage spacer comprises two intersection legs in a V shape. The legs each have a clip portion for engaging and capturing the rods or welded fabric such that the cage spacers are oriented this their apex in a plane parallel to the plane of the face of the rods and the face of a mold. The clips are oriented perpendicular to the plane of the face of the rods or welded fabric such that the clips are attached by applying a force perpendicular to the plane of the rods. A pointed apex on the top of the cage spacer reduced the footprint of the cage spacer on the wall of the mold for a stronger wall when the molded concrete is formed.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2003Date of Patent: May 31, 2005Inventor: Julian P. Patent number: 6881899Abstract: A pullbox assembly for use in wiring having a cylindrical pipe main body having a side wall with handles and or cable holders which double as wire holders for the inside of the pullbox main body and a flat base for stability of the pullbox in the ground. A metal casting frame attached to the rim of the main body by bolts through the sidewall. A cover fitting into the casting frame and optionally bolted thereto. The pullbox assembly can have a base, which is solid for keeping water and moisture out or the base may have a drainage hole for high water table applications to let water in and out. An extension may be added to the pullbox assembly to lengthen the main body for deeper holes in the ground. The pullbox assembly is easy to assemble on site. The cover has an indentation for attachment of different nameplates.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2004Date of Patent: April 19, 2005Inventor: Julian P. Trangsrud

Patent number: 6695002Abstract: A collar for supporting or protecting pipes on an outside drop adjacent a manhole is provided. A plurality of stacked collar sections can protect pipes comprising the outside drop. Alternatively a plurality of collar segments having a circular wall within can form the pipe integrally with the collar. The collars can protect riser pipe sections or elbow piper sections. The collars may be split for ease of installation around pipes and fastened together around the pipe. The collars are easily attached to the manhole by drilling a hole into the manhole at designated places and using bolts through tabs on the collars to hold the collar in place adjacent the manhole. The collars can have several different standard heights and be stacked to the desired height of the manhole. Pipes having riser sections or elbow sections can have protective collars.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2003Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Assignee: Royal Environmental Systems, Inc.Inventor: Julian P. Patent number: 6226928Abstract: A base for a manhole or catch basin structure having an embedded plastic canal-bed liner and a corresponding blocking member or hood. The plastic liner has an annular, outwardly extending flange which becomes embedded in a sidewall of the base to form a unitary structure when the concrete is poured. The liner is not subject to delamination from the canal-bed and includes bosses for additional anchoring to the base. The canal-bed liner and hood serve to protect the concrete base and sidewalls of the manhole or catch basin from corrosive fluids, thus extending the useful life of the manhole structure. The hood may be secured to the sidewalls of the structure or may be engaged and sealed to a rim of the liner.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 1998Date of Patent: May 8, 2001Assignee: Royal Environmental Systems, Inc.Inventor: Julian P. Patent number: 6206609Abstract: An extension collar suitable for engagement with an upper ledge of an invert liner positioned within the canal bed of the base of a manhole or catch basin structure. The extension collar is replaceable and is suitable for use in either new construction or rehabilitation of the manhole structure. A plurality of extension collars may be sealably stacked one on top of the other to create a corrosion resistant barrier at a desired height from the bottom of the base of the manhole or catch basin.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1999Date of Patent: March 27, 2001Assignee: Royal Environmental Systems, Inc.Inventor: Julian P. Patent number: 5752787Abstract: A base for a manhole or catch basin structure having an embedded plastic canal-bed liner and a corresponding hood. The plastic liner has an annular, outwardly extending flange which becomes embedded in a sidewall of the base to form a unitary structure when the concrete is poured. The liner is not subject to delamination from the canal-bed and includes bosses for additional anchoring to the base. In an alternative preferred embodiment, a seal and seal adapter are provided. The adapter, in combination with an integral socket of the canal-bed liner, restrains the seal within a canal-bed sidewall opening. This combination also serves to conveniently position the seal at time of casting. The canal-bed liner and hood serve to protect the concrete base and cone of the manhole from corrosive fluids, thus extending the useful life of the manhole structure.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 1997Date of Patent: May 19, 1998Assignee: Royal Anchor Systems, Inc.Inventor: Julian P. Patent number: 5720579Abstract: A ground anchor for use in securing a desired object adjacent the ground is described. The ground anchor consists of a one-piece unitary molded plastic body member having a reinforcing rod extending through a mid portion thereof. The ground anchor includes an annular shoulder surface to which a driving force is translated. A cable or other tie member links an embedded ground anchor to the desired object. The anchor is configured so that tension on the cable tends to rotate the anchor within the ground to increase the resistance against pulling out of the ground.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1996Date of Patent: February 24, 1998Assignee: Royal Anchor Systems, Inc.Inventor: Julian P. Patent number: 5322386Abstract: A ground anchor for use in securing above ground objects in place consists of a molded plastic body member having a cylindrical central portion with a cone-shaped projection terminating in a point at one end thereof and a concentrically disposed cylindrical stem projecting from the other end. The stem is of a smaller O.D. than that of the central portion and, thus, an annular shoulder surface is created at the junction. A tie plate is fitted into a slot formed in the molded plastic body. A cable or other tie member connects to that plate and to the object to be anchored. The anchor is driven into the ground by positioning a drive rod over the stem portion of the anchor body so that the end of that rod abuts the annular shoulder. Then, by hammering on the upper end of the drive rod, the anchor is driven into the ground to the desired depth. The anchor is configured so that tension on the tie cable tends to rotate the anchor within the earth to increase the resistance against pull-out.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1993Date of Patent: June 21, 1994Assignee: Royal Concrete Products, Inc.Inventor: Julian P.
