  • Patent number: 8436921
Abstract: A picture signal processing system includes a playback apparatus and a display apparatus connected via first and second communication units. The playback apparatus receives a video signal made up of source data generated by moving giant image data in a constant direction at a constant speed, wherein the giant image data has a number of pixels far greater than the number of pixels in a display region. The playback apparatus reads source data speed information stored in the video signal header, and transmits the video signal and the speed information to the display apparatus. The display apparatus references a table to determine how to process the video signal on the basis of the speed information, processes the video signal, and then displays the processed video signal.

  • Publication number: 20120242780
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus and method, and a program capable of presenting a stereoscopic image having different parallaxes. An image capture apparatus 11 captures photographic images P(1) to P(N) in a state of being turned around a center of turn C11. The image capture apparatus 11 crops, as strip images, certain regions in the photographic images, and arranges side by side and combines the strip images to generate panoramic images in which a region in an image capture area is set as a subject. The image capture apparatus 11 obtaining panoramic moving images formed of a plurality of panoramic images by generating a plurality of panoramic images while shifting the cropping positions of the strip images. The image capture apparatus 11 selects two panoramic moving images from among a plurality of panoramic moving images having parallaxes in accordance with a specified parallax, and obtains a stereoscopic panoramic moving image formed of the two panoramic moving images.

  • Publication number: 20120182400
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus and method, and a program capable of displaying a stereoscopic image having a more appropriate parallax. An image capture apparatus 11 captures a plurality of photographic images P(1) to P(N) in a state of being turned around a center of turn C11. In response to an instruction for displaying an image in which a specific region in an area to be captured is displayed, the image capture apparatus 11 selects two photographic images between which parallax having a predetermined magnitude occurs in a subject in the specific region from among photographic images in which the specific region is displayed, and crops regions in which the subject in the specific region is displayed from these photographic images to produce right-eye and left-eye sub-images. These sub-images have an appropriate parallax and therefore are displayed simultaneously using a lenticular method or the like. Thus, a stereoscopic image with depth can be displayed.

  • Patent number: 8219634
Abstract: Information distribution systems and information distribution methods are provided. In an information distribution system, header files of contents in accordance with a preference of a user of a data terminal are automatically selected, in advance, from a content distribution apparatus and are transmitted to the data terminal, so that probabilities that the header files of the contents have been already stored are very high when the user downloads the content of the body data. If the number of header files to be stored is more than a predetermined number, the most of the header files with respect to the contents of the body data to be downloaded will be in the data terminal. Therefore, on performing a downloading operation, the header files can be played immediately, then subsequently, the downloaded content of the body data are played, whereby the user can appreciate the content which the user desires to view and listen to without waiting time.

  • Publication number: 20120169840
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image processing device and method, and a program, whereby a subject image imaged in a more effective manner can be displayed. An imaging apparatus 11 images multiple imaged images P(1) through P(N) in a state turning with a turning center C11 as the center. The imaging apparatus 11 trims from each of the obtained multiple imaged images a region determined by a predetermined reference position in the imaged image as a strip-of-paper image, and arrays and synthesizes these strip-of-paper images, thereby generating a panorama image with a predetermined region on imaging space as a subject. The imaging apparatus 11 generates multiple panorama images while shifting a trimming position of a strip-of-paper image from the imaged image, thereby obtaining a panorama moving image made up of the multiple panorama images. According to this panorama moving image, a subject in an imaged image can be displayed with motion. The present invention can be applied to cameras.

  • Patent number: 8018516
Abstract: A signal processing method of a solid-state image sensor includes comparing a high-sensitivity-pixel output signal and a first threshold value to determine whether or not the high-sensitivity-pixel output signal reaches a level of a saturated-high-sensitivity-pixel output signal. If the high-sensitivity-pixel output signal does not reach the level of the saturated-high-sensitivity-pixel output signal, a difference value between the high-sensitivity-pixel output signal and an amplified low-sensitivity-pixel output signal is calculated. The amplified low-sensitivity-pixel output signal is obtained by multiplying a low-sensitivity-pixel output signal by a sensitivity ratio, which is obtained by dividing a sensitivity value of a high sensitivity pixel by a sensitivity value of a low sensitivity pixel. A first or second image signal is output according to whether an absolute value of the difference value is smaller than a second threshold value or not.
