Patent number: 6511428Abstract: An ultrasound therapy apparatus delivers focused ultrasound for therapeutical purposes which can be correctly targeted to a target region, and also, a positional shift from the target region under irradiation of ultrasound can be effectively avoided. An ultrasound transducer is inside an applicator with an imaging ultrasonic probe. Another ultrasound transducer monitors a position of a target and a positional shift is inside a catheter which is inserted into a urethral tube. An imaging system drives the ultrasound probe to display an ultrasound tomographic image of a region in the vicinity of a target region. The ultrasound transducer is driven in a pulse-shaped mode at the same frequency as the imaging ultrasound and also at such timing when the imaging ultrasound is reached. As a result, a point-shaped sound source image is superimposed and displayed on an ultrasound tomographic image.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2001Date of Patent: January 28, 2003Assignees: Hitachi, Ltd., Hitachi Medical CorporationInventors: Takashi Azuma, Kenichi Kawabata, Shinichiro Umemura, Kazuaki Sasaki, Katsuhiro Kuroda, Ryuichi Shinomura, Yuichi Miwa, Kazunari Ishida, Jun Kubota

Patent number: 6481967Abstract: A gas turbine moving blade is provided which prevents occurrence of cracks caused by thermal stresses due to temperature differences between a blade and a platform while the gas turbine is being stopped. During steady operation time of the moving blade, cooling air enters cooling passages to flow through other cooling passages for cooling the blade, and then to flow out of the blade. A recessed portion having a smooth curved surface is provided in the platform near a blade fitting portion on the blade trailing edge side. A fillet of the blade fitting portion on the blade trailing edge side has a curved surface with curvature larger than that of a conventional blade fitting portion. A hub slot below the fillet, for blowing air, has a cross sectional area larger than other slots of the blade trailing edge. A thermal barrier coating is applied to the blade surface.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2001Date of Patent: November 19, 2002Assignee: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Yasuoki Tomita, Yukihiro Hashimoto, Kiyoshi Suenaga, Hisato Arimura, Shunsuke Torii, Jun Kubota, Akihiko Shirota, Sunao Aoki, Tatsuo Ishiguro

Patent number: 5511423Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which improves the bearing resolution by dynamically changing the weighting performed on the amplitude of transmitted ultrasonic waves and/or a received wave signal. This weighting is changed with reference to the magnitude of the received wave signal. The resolution in the bearing direction is improved by increasing the wave number of the ultrasonic wave to be transmitted and by weighting the ultrasonic wave, whereas the resolution in the distance direction is prevented from being degraded as much as possible, thus making the bearing resolution substantially equal to the distance resolution. Since controlling the wave number is comparable to control of a frequency band, similar effects can also be produced by combining the control of the frequency band of a received wave signal with the weighting.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 1994Date of Patent: April 30, 1996Assignee: Hitachi Medical CorporationInventors: Takashi Sugiyama, Jun Kubota

Patent number: 5307863Abstract: A method for continuous casting of a slab comprises feeding molten steel into a mold through exit ports of an immersion nozzle and controlling a stream of the molten steel by means of an electromagnetic stirrer having a linearly shifting magnetic field. The direction of the linearly shifting magnetic field is toward the immersion nozzle, which is positioned at the center of the mold from a pair of narrow sides of the mold. A first frequency control step controls a frequency of a wave of the shifting magnetic field to be higher than a threshold frequency, wherein the wave has a period equal to the time during which the stream of the molten steel poured from the immersion nozzle passes through an area to which the linearly shifting magnetic field is introduced, said area having an upper limit and a lower limit.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1993Date of Patent: May 3, 1994Assignee: NKK CorporationInventors: Jun Kubota, Akira Shirayama, Toshio Masaoka, Kazutaka Okimoto, Takashi Mori

Patent number: 5024094Abstract: In a system for irradiating an ultrasonic beam and imaging the insides of plate-shaped and layer-shaped samples, by using the difference between the sound velocities of a liquid medium and a sample from an ultrasonic transducer to the surface of the sample, the focusing condition is arithmetically operated from the distance between the transducer and the imaging surface which is obtained from the surface echo, and a focal point is set to an arbitrary surface in the sample, thereby correcting a phenomenon such that the focal point of the ultrasonic beam focused into the sample non-linearly moves. Thus, even if the sample is distorted, curved, or inclined, the surface can be imaged at a high resolution and a finer imaging picture can be obtained.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 1988Date of Patent: June 18, 1991Assignee: Hitaci, Ltd.Inventors: Jun Kubota, Hirotoshi Kino, Yosinori Musha, Hisao Okada

Patent number: 5024093Abstract: A fan-shaped scanning flaw detecting apparatus which includes a probe provided with an ultrasonic wave transmitting-and-receiving array transducer arranged along a circular arc and an acoustic lens for converging and converting an ultrasonic beam transmitted/received by the array transducer into a substantially parallel beam. The apparatus also includes a scanning function section that sequentially switches the transmitting and receiving operation of a group of operative transducer elements of the array transducer so as to make the ultrasonic beam perform fan-shaped scanning. A picturizing processor section forms a sectional image of an object to be examined on the basis of an echo signal obtained from the object to be examined and a display section displays the sectional image. A position detecting section detects a position where the ultrasonic beam is incident to the object to be examined when the probe is moved along a surface of the object to be examined.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1990Date of Patent: June 18, 1991Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Souji Sasaki, Hirotoshi Kino, Yoshinori Musha, Jun Kubota, Hisao Okada
