Abstract: Described are pressure-sensitive adhesive polymers (PSAs) useful, for example, for application to the skin, such as in the field of transdermal drug delivery. The PSAs include polar groups modeled on one or more polar portions of skin lipids, which contribute to good skin adhesion properties. Methods of making the PSAs, compositions comprising them, and methods of making and using them also are provided.

Herein, the locating method comprises: a first terminal receiving an included angle value between a current advancing direction of a user and a due north direction, which is sent from a second terminal, wherein the first terminal is provided with a gyroscope, the second terminal is used to calculate the included angle value of the included angle between the current advancing direction and the due north direction according to the current advancing direction input by the user and a due north direction indication diagram, and send the included angle value to the first terminal; and the first terminal using the included angle value to correct an output angle of the gyroscope, so as to locate the first terminal. By the present invention, the directional angle may be accurately determined without using a magnetometer.

Abstract: A passive cooling system of a pressurized water reactor that relies on a depressurization system to reduce the pressure in the reactor vessel in the event of a loss of coolant accident and vent the steam generated by the decay heat of the reactor core in a post loss of coolant accident stage. The depressurization results in a low pressure difference between the reactor vessel and the containment and enables gravity driven cooling system injection into the reactor vessel. The depressurization system includes a flow restrictor within an orifice in the reactor vessel wall that connects to a vent pipe which forms a flow path between the interior of the reactor vessel and the containment atmosphere when a valve within the vent pipe is in an open position. Preferably, the flow restrictor is a venturi that has a gradual contraction and a gradual expansion in the flow path area.

Abstract: Compositions for the transdermal delivery of methylphenidate in a flexible, finite form are described. The compositions comprise a polymer matrix that includes methylphenidate or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt and at least one acrylic polymer that is non-reactive with methylphenidate.
