  • Publication number: 20030102669
Abstract: During conditions of use of a threaded joint comprising a box portion and a pin portion used to threadingly join oil well pipes, the stress acting on the outer surface of the box portion is prevented from exceeding the yield strength of the base metal of the joint, and the occurrence of stress corrosion in the joint portion is prevented. Specifically, the amount of thread interference T is controlled to be at most a specified value calculated as a function of the inner diameter D1 of the pin portion, the thread effective diameter D2 at the basic diameter position, the outer diameter D3 of the box portion, the internal pressure Pi, and the yield strength &sgr;y and Young's modulus E of the base metal. As a result, a threaded joint which is suitable for joining of oil well pipes can be provided.

  • Patent number: 6417096
Abstract: A substrate is provided. A first dielectric layer is formed over the substrate by deposition. Etching stop layer and a second dielectric layer are formed in turn over the first dielectric. Next, the second dielectric layer is dealt with Lewis acid. Then, a first photoresist layer is defined and formed over the second dielectric layer. And then dry etching is carried out by means of the first photoresist layer as the mask to form a via hole. The surface of the second dielectric layer and the via hole are treated with Lewis acid. Subsequently, the second photoresist layer is defined and formed on the second dielectric layer. Dry etching is proceed, and etching stop layer is as a etching terminal point to remove exposed partial surface of the second dielectric layer so as to form a trench having larger horizontal size than the via hole. Subsequently, the second photoresist layer is removed to form the opening of the damascene.

  • Publication number: 20020021946
Abstract: A throwaway insert for a pin mirror cutter in which eight corners can be used and which the cutting performance and machining accuracy can be increased by making positive the axial rake angle of the peripheral cutting edge. Side faces of a negative insert of a parallelogrammic shape are formed by two surfaces connecting to each other at an angle so as to have a first included angle and a second included angle. Further, independent arcuate surfaces are provided at the intersections between the arcuate corner sides of each of the side faces and the top and bottom surfaces and the intersections between the obtuse corner sides and the top and bottom surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6024519
Abstract: A throwaway insert for a ball end mill having an ideal cutting edge shape corresponding to the cutting speeds and loads at different portions of the cutting edges, high in strength and capable of discharging chips smoothly. As viewed in a direction perpendicular to the line connecting noses, each cutting edge forms a convex curve with its nose portion at the lowest level. As viewed in a direction perpendicular to the abovesaid direction, rake faces form symmetrical, downwardly sloping convex accurate surfaces or straight surfaces having a positive rake angle of 5-25.degree.. The wedge angle at the cutting edges is set at 85-65.degree.. Thus, the rake angle will be negative at the noses and positive at other portions. Further, the rake angle increases toward the side where the cutting speed is higher. The thickness of the insert increases toward the side where the load is greater. Since this insert is a modification of a negative insert, i.e.

  • Patent number: 5649725
Abstract: A thread joint for a tube which suppresses galling without deteriorating its sealing performance since a sliding distance L.sub.S which expresses a quantity of spiral sliding of sealing portions relative to each other during a tightening period from the start of a contact between the sealing portions until shoulder portions abut each other satisfies the following relationship:Sliding Distance L.sub.S .ltoreq.-0.0093.times. (Tube Outer Diameter).sup.2 +4.73.times. (Tube Outer Diameter). To shorten the sliding distance L.sub.S, the sealing portion of a box portion is formed shorter than the sealing portion of a pin portion. In this case, a circumferential groove may be formed to discharge a dope. Conversely, the sealing portion of the pin portion is formed shorter than the sealing portion of the box portion. In this case, a precedent-stage unthread portion whose inclination is smaller than that of the sealing portion of the pin portion is formed between a male thread and the sealing portion of the pin portion.

  • Patent number: 5621670
Abstract: A communication service simulator simulates communication service specification for a communication network having terminals and server nodes. The terminals of the communication network are registered in association with terminal data. When a called terminal has not been registered as terminal data during a simulation of a communication service specification, a terminal simulator registers the called terminal and the associated terminal data and displays the terminal data on a screen. A history regenerate/display unit displays on the screen any history of the content of a history storage unit. A simulation process controller copies a simulation process and separately executes and displays each of the processes when there is a branch, etc. in a communication service specification.

  • Patent number: 5616295
Abstract: In the furnace a plurality of floaters are arranged in series in a direction in which the metal strip is transferred. The strip is fed through the furnace, floated by these floaters. A test floater is installed along the strip transfer pathway. The height of the strip floated by the test floater is detected by a float sensor. The gas pressure of the test floater detected when the test floater floats the strip to an appropriate height is reflected on the gas pressures of the in-furnace floaters. As a result, the in-furnace floaters float the strip to the appropriate height.
