  • Publication number: 20120233316
Abstract: It is provided a management computer coupled to a plurality of storage apparatuses and a plurality of physical computers, which comprises a memory, a processor and a network interface. The management computer collects performance information on each of at least one resource included in a path based on monitoring priority assigned to the each of the at least one resource; identifies a first path including a first resource based on configuration information in a case where a first event has occurred on the first resource; identifies a second resource included in the first path; determines whether a third resource for which the monitoring priority needs to be changed is included in the second resource based on the first event and the monitoring priority information; and changes the monitoring priority of the third resource in a case where the third resource is determined to be included in the second resource.

  • Patent number: 8171241
Abstract: Provided is a computer system including a host computer, a plurality of virtual storage systems coupled to the host computer, a storage system coupled to the plurality of virtual storage systems, and a management computer. The storage system includes storage areas provided as volumes to the host computer. Each of the virtual storage systems provides virtual volumes corresponding to the volumes to the host computer. The host computer disperses a plurality of data I/Os containing data to be written in one of the volumes to the virtual volumes of a plurality of paths reaching the one of the volumes at a determined ratio. The management computer calculates a threshold value of a performance value to be set in the virtual volume of each of the paths to determine whether to generate an alert based on the predetermined ratio. Thus, performance of the computer system is properly managed.

  • Patent number: 8127092
Abstract: Implementing migration of a computer or data in consideration of the performance of an entire computer system is disclosed. A management computer is coupled to a computer 41000 and to a storage system 51000 having RAID groups 51220 and 51221 for providing logical volumes 51210 to 51212. When a predetermined event occurs at a resource on an I/O path from the computer 41000 to the RAID groups 51220 and 51221, the applicable I/O path is extracted. Moreover, it is determined whether or not there is another I/O path used by another computer and another logical volume, which does not share any resources and does not use the extracted I/O path. When there is the other I/o path, it is determined whether or not a performance of a resource contained therein remains within a preset range of a threshold requirement in the case of migrating the computer 41000 and the logical volumes 51210 to 51212 to the other I/O path. If the performance falls within the range, the other I/O path is determined as a migration destination.

  • Patent number: 8109342
Abstract: A box-shaped beach-cleaning trailer is configured to be loaded with, and collectively carry beach-cleaning equipment and a litter collection station. The beach-cleaning equipment are towed by a vehicle to collect litter on the sands. The litter collected by the beach-cleaning equipment is collected in the litter collection station. The trailer includes a pair of rail members disposed on upper edges of the respective opposite side wall portions such that the rail members face each other with an opening therebetween. A sieve unit is detachably mounted on the rail members, and is configured to move a back-and-forth direction along the rail members. The sieve unit is moved in a back-and-forth direction manually; or by using a driving mechanism including a drive wheel, a driven wheel, and a connecting rod arranged between the sieve unit and the driven wheel, for separating colleted litter of various sizes from sand.

  • Patent number: 7686388
Abstract: The present invention provides a wire/pipe support device of a motorcycle that can possess a sufficient space for accommodating a wire/pipe without increasing the degree of forming of a vehicle body frame. A wire/pipe support device includes a groove-shaped engaging portion that is engaged with a main frame that constitutes a vehicle body frame of a motorcycle and has a lower surface thereof opened. A groove-shaped accommodating portion receives the wire/pipe thereon and has an upper surface thereof opened. The engaging portion is mounted on the vehicle body frame by engaging the engaging portion with the vehicle body frame from above. The wire/pipe is placed on the accommodating portion. The wire/pipe support device is pushed from above by a fuel tank directly or by way of a cushion member thus preventing the floating of the wire/pipe support device from the vehicle body frame and the rotation of the wire/pipe support device about the vehicle body frame.

  • Patent number: 7430205
Abstract: A packet transfer apparatus which can switch a communication path for each of a plurality of users using the same L2TP tunnel is provided. Packet transfer apparatuses terminating L2TP contain a table specifying a flow threshold level and a priority level of each subscriber; the amount of packet flow of each subscriber is measured in accordance with the information in the table; if the threshold level is exceeded, the packet communication path is switched in accordance with the priority level specified for each subscriber. The OSPF protocol is used to manage the path information, and the information of a plurality of paths to a destination is stored in a path management table. The path is switched by specifying destination routers with the source routing option in the IP header of a packet after L2TP encapsulation.
