  • Patent number: 4992822
Abstract: In an optical printing system for printing an image on a recording sheet, adopted as the recording sheet is a sheet coated with microcapsules on one surface thereon. Each microcapsule envelopes a first component which changes color when reacts with a second component. The second component may be coated on the recording sheet or may be coated on a separate developing sheet. The microcapsule further envelopes a third component which varies the mechanical strength of microcapsule when light is projected thereto. An image is formed on the recording sheet by selectively exposing a light thereto in accordance with the image to be printed thereon, and the microcapsules on the recording sheet whose mechanical strength is low are then ruptured by rupturing means. Thereby, the visible image is developed. The exposing is carried out by repeating a predetermined-period exposure at a predetermined interval against the same portion of the recording sheet.

  • Patent number: 4985727
Abstract: An image recording apparatus having a first exposure unit for forming a latent image corresponding to an original image on a photosensitive pressure sensitive recording medium, and a second exposure unit for electrostatically forming a developer particle image. The developer particle image is transferred onto the photosensitive pressure sensitive recording medium, and the thus transferred developer particles are reacted with chromogenic material of the photosensitive recording medium at a pressure developing unit so that a visible image is provided on another sheet medium. A method for recording the image includes the steps of effecting a first exposure for forming the latent image, effecting a second exposure for forming the developer particle image, electrostatically transferring the developer particle image onto the recording medium, and pressure developing the image to provide a visible image on a separate plane paper.

  • Patent number: 4935749
Abstract: An image transfer system wherein latent images formed on a photosensitive medium by exposure to a radiation according to image signals are developed into visible images, the photosensitive medium having a basic minimum amount of exposure to the radiation, which substantially defines a lower limit of a density-variable range in which a density of the visible images is varied according to an amount of exposure of the medium to the radiation. The present image transfer system includes a first device, a second device and a developing device. The first device is adapted to expose the medium a predetermined basic amount not larger than the basic minimum amount. The second device exposes local areas of the medium to a controlled intensity of the radiation represented by the image signals, and thereby cooperates with the first device to form the latent images on the photosensitive medium. The latent images are developed into the visible images by the developing device.

  • Patent number: 4933685
Abstract: A method and an apparatus of exposing a photosensitive medium for forming thereon a latent image which corresponds to an original image to be reproduced and which is developed into a visible image. The photosensitive medium has a basic minimum amount of exposure to a radiation, below which a density of the visible image remains constant and above which the density varies with an amount of exposure to the radiation. An entire recording surface of the photosensitive medium is evenly exposed to a first radiation by a predetermined first exposure amount determined by the basic minimum amount, and each label area of the recording surface is exposed to a second radiation by a second exposure amount which corresponds to a density in a corresponding local area of the original image, so that the first and second exposure amounts cooperate to form the latent image.

  • Patent number: 4889688
Abstract: Conventionally, heat treatment was necessary in the final stage of producing nodular cast iron products to give the nodular cast iron with desired mechanical properties. This was necessary because of the loss of graphitization capability of the molten metal when it is being formed into nodular cast iron during the process of spheroidization, and the heat treatment is therefore required to decompose cementite formation and thereby promote graphitization. The process of producing nodular cast iron according to the present invention can achieve the promotion of graphitization and the increase in the number of graphite nodules, which are both important for the production of high-quality thin-shell cast iron products, through the synergetic effect of processing the molten metal with a graphitization agent such as SiC or CaC.sub.2 and of adding a graphite atomization agent such as Bi.
