The bottle uses an umbrella valve to vent air from the filter into the body of the bottle so that a continuous stream of filtered water is provided by the bottle as water is poured from the bottle. In an embodiment, the umbrella valve moves from a closed position to an open position when at least a threshold pressure is applied to a diaphragm of the valve.
