    Abstract: Provided are a solvent-substitution solvent for producing a hydrophobized aerogel and a method for producing a hydrophobized aerogel. The method includes performing a solvent substitution process using the solvent-substitution solvent. If the solvent-substitution solvent is used for solvent substitution and/or hydrophobization in an aerogel production process, water (moisture) contained in a wet gel may be effectively substituted with the solvent-substitution solvent, and the solvent-substitution solvent may easily be collected at a high degree of purity and may be reused if necessary. Therefore, the rate of solvent loss may be minimized.
